Not being familiar with Jewish custom I'm afraid I can't help you re: Alice, however here are some suggestions you may like. Good luck!
Thanks, those are very pretty descriptions! So no one thinks it may sound too posh? That's also one of our concerns with Delphine (but at least, it sounds like those names will be taken more...
What is your opinion on the name Marguerite? How usable do you think it is? What is your favorite nickname option with it? What person do you picture with that name? Big sister is Amelia. Thanks!

Just read all your comments with my husband. Again, thanks so much for your help! I still like Daphne a lot, but we now wonder if she would be taken seriously with that name. :/
We also really...

Oh wow, thanks everyone, I didn't expect to get so many replies! I'll read them all to my husband tonight, see what he thinks and if it helps him make up his mind (me too!). At the moment he prefers...

All right, it seems like Laurel is out now. Daphne is still a strong contender, but now we've come across Delphine and are hesitating between the two. I like Delphine's French flair, I think it would...
You seem to be on the right track! I love Theodora nn Thea! Theodora Laurel maybe?
Some similar options that you may like:
Lori is cute :) I would probably use Laurie as a nickname for Laurel, if we end up picking that name. As for Lorraine, it's fine and definitely useable. I do prefer Lauren though.
As a first name, I'm not a fan, but when it comes to middles, I say go for it. :)
It may just be an accent thing. ;) LO-rel sounds right to me. I guess it's as opposed to the way they say it on the tv show Arrow (Laurel Lance).
Thank you for chiming in! :)
Thanks for all the replies! I'm really leaning towards Daphne at the moment, but I may still change my mind. I also really like Laurel, but it is my understanding that it can be pronounced 2...
Sorry, I love Cora! but not with your last name. How about:
My husband surprised me last night - he now likes Laurel! So what do you think about this name, and which name do you prefer, Daphne or Laurel (nn Laurie?)? Also, which one do you prefer with big...
The big name debate continues! Vivian is his suggestion (spelling is still up for debate as well), Miriam is mine. Which one do you prefer, and why? Big sister is Amelia. Thank you so much for your...
Thanks everyone! Your help is really appreciated and we'd love to hear more comments/opinions. Two of these we're suggested by my husband and the other two by me - at least our styles are quite...
Thanks for your nice comments and suggestion! I did actually consider Laurel at some point, but my husband ruled it out. :(

I'd like to offer Victoria and Marguerite as a possibility. :) Otherwise, Charlotte seems to be a perfect match, and as a bearer of the name, I fully approve your choice. ;)
Given a choice between those four names, which one would you pick or NOT pick, and why? Big sister is Amelia. Thanks! :)
Ivy is really pretty! The teasing potential is pretty mild and harmless, I think.

Hang in there, you will find that special name for your baby. What we did was take our top 2 names with us to the hospital and wait till we met our daughter to decide. Amelia was what felt right for...
I love it and would totally use it if I could! :)

Thanks for the comments! I really like Daphne but, to me, it sounds quite different from the usually quite soft/lilting names I tend to like ('harsh' was maybe the wrong word to use - after all, I do...

Daphne is another name I've been thinking a lot about lately. With our daughter Amelia, we picked a name that was very feminine yet strong (Amelia Earhart comes to mind). Daphne sounds somewhat harsh...
Thanks all for your comments! Although I really like Gabrielle, I'm really not sure we can use it. Arielle sounds a lot like it but doesn't have the same vibe, so I'm still really undecided about...
Which name/spelling do you prefer? What type of girl/woman do you imagine with those names? Do you pronounce Arielle and Ariel differently?
Thank you for your help!
