Maple is a guilty pleasure fav of mine. Its on my list, and I would love to use it for a middle name someday.
For your sibset, though, I do prefer Mabel. Classic, a little vintage. Lovely with...
Asher is leaps and bounds better than the others on your list.
Yeah, give us more hints into your style. What was the name you liked, but then tossed out? What are other names you've considered?
For me, I wouldn't use it.
But, how often would the cousins be together? Are you close with that family? I think there are situations where you could still use the name.
I think that there are...

I wish there was a "like" button option for this!! :)

My first association is also "rig" or "rigging", as in cheating.
It's not my style, but I don't hate it. I wouldn't cringe or wrinkle my nose at a boy named Riggins.

I also like Fox in the middle, and Apollo.
For girls I'm crushing on Wildflower in the middle spot.

This argument is weak to me, because there are some out-there first names for people who have run for office. Jeb. Mitt. Rand.
I think Fox will survive.
Also, the argument that...

Actually, Fox is not very far out of the top 1000 at all.
The #1000 name on the SSA list is Antoine, which was given to 202 babies in 2015.
Fox was given to 193 babies in 2015.
So yes, its...

August & Asher are such a perfect sib set!

I think Fox can absolutely work! I 100% disagree with the posters saying that it's too cutesy for a grown man. I love it. Fox sounds like he could be an athlete, a rockstar, or a scientist. Wearable,...

YES. This is a perfect way to describe my trouble with choosing. Choosing a name means I can't use another one of my favorites. Which is why I can't understand people who don't want to choose a...

I do this to some extent. The name that is OMG MY FAVORITE changes often. My suggestions:
Stop telling people you've chosen a name. ;)
Maybe narrow down your choices to a handful of things you...
I don't know if this is exactly the same as your describing, but something similar:
When I was pregnant with my first we didn't find out the baby's sex, so baby was either Linus or Ivy. Baby was...

"Nicknames" as given names is acceptable 90% of the time, IMO.
I feel like I've said this 100 times on this forum, but my name is Abby, not Abigail. I have never wished to be Abigail. I'm a...

Great question-- I've never thought of this before.
I think part of the appeal for me, is bestowing the name on a real human person, giving their very first bit of identification. Sure, we build...

Oh I don't think Rose names are too old fashioned at all! They definitely have a vintage feel-- but that's a good thing!
I only pronounce Rosalie one way-- do other's pronounce differently?
Of these choices, I like Casper Benjamin best. I prefer to pair a traditional classic with a more spunky, unusual name like Casper. I do like the sound of Casper Oslo, though!
My first thought was to combine the feels of your favorite Oliver, and his favorite Ashton, and use the name Asher. Great name, a little bit of both of your favorites, win win!
I love Casper! And as a mom of a cartoon named kiddo (Linus)-- Felix and Casper wouldn't bother me. Now, two names from the same cartoon and I'd tell you "no way".
My problem is not with the...
I was with you the whole way until you said your son, husband, and last name all start with M. I'm not opposed to alliteration with first name/last name combos-- Marilyn Monroe comes to mind, and in...
I love all of these, except for Soleil. For me, since the spelling/pronunciation isn't intuitive, it loses points. I don't hate it, but ... Clementine, Aurelia, and Marigold are all PERFECT to me....

I voted for Georgia. It's sweet and unexpected. Eliza would be my second choice. Phoebe would be far behind for me. For some reason, Phoebe doesn't have the same spark that the other two have.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm trying to like Winona, but so far getting nowhere. But I agree that making Nona the nickname is a good solution to the problem.
Aw thanks! Haven't convinced DH of this one yet, nor am I pregnant yet, but its quickly making its way into my top 10. :)
