I had a friend in high school named Elizabeth that everyone called Izzy.

Personally, I'd pick something that ends in the "a" sound - it just seems like the best option for a name ending with an "L" beginning for the ln.

I'd go with Avalyn, and ONLY because Adalyn is a brand-name widely popular where is i live. Of course, it is a brand name for kids' items, but nonetheless...

As just a name, with no strings attached, i like it very much.
In reality i would use it though, because yes, i dont think the meaning is very nice.
There are only about a handful that I like. Sometimes I hear one and cringe!

I think you have tons of options for middles, but I like c@29's suggestion of something "light" in the middle. Just helps the flow.

The one for me that is too close to a character/ real person is Jase (Too many Duck Dynasty references already!)
