Ellie is all frill yes, and some people equate that with girlishness... however Sarah is all-girl to me. Sophisticated, feminine and strong (plus is means "princess", so...).

Bluebell - A legit name in ages past. It's a bit too much for my tastes, but I would think it cute if I met a Bluebell. Unfortunately, the presence of little Blue Ivy in our world makes me a bit wary...

Why are you still looking? You totally scored on those two names!
I also agree that Vivi is too good to pass up. We have many variations of the Viv- on our list as well. We have only been daunted...
River Sonnet makes me sigh... oh, so lovely. I like the imagery embedded in that as well.
River Lily is a bit kitchy to me, but it technically works. River Lyra might be a decent alternative to...
I really like someone's suggestion of Clara Violet, but here are my pofferings:
My husband suggested Luningning, which is a name from his home country of the Philippines. I am not sure how well that will fly in English-speaking countries. But it is certainly pretty and means...
Ooo, Sallie Marguerite is just the right amount of surprising personality! I really like it!
Sallie May/Mae is adorable, but a little bit joke-y considering the lending service SallieMae (student...

I asked my doctor over the phone. She suggested that I wait until DD is two before even thinking about another. It is a good idea healthwise actually, especially since I went carb crazy after giving...

We are TTC, but just only started.
We have had three pregnancies, but only one birth and our DD is only 10 months old. In every case, it was only about three months ttc before we conceived.
I think Gerard is winning with all the unexpectedly positive comments. DH is thrilled, so thanks on his behalf too.
I still have Renard in the back of my mind, because I happen...
Gerard doesn't seem to be as old-sounding as I thought. Nameberry lists it as a "grandpa" name, but I think it might work for us.
Not a fan of Gerry though. I wonder if there are other nicknames...
I have heard Edmund used in the States, so if you did like that, I see no reason why you can't use it. Of all the Ed-names... Edgar is my favorite and Edison is the most trendy/modern.
DH told me last night that he really likes Gerard. It's exciting whenever he decides to input a name, but I was honestly surprised by his choice.
WDYT of Gerard?
I poffered Renard or Reynard...

Thanks all! It is always interesting to see what people prefer compared to what I find beautiful.
My personal faves of the list are Valora and Velia, though it seems that Veda and Viviane have...
Dahlia is pronounced just as it is spelled, dah-lee-ah or dah-lyah if you say it fast.
day-lee-ah is Delia, with an Italian pronunciation.
I had an Italian surname as well, and we went with French variations for our little one.
So... Francette or Francine instead of Francesca etc. (though Francesca is a top notch name, so I would...
1 - Maebry
2 - Isobel
3 - Rowan

I'd like to piggyback off the other poster who mentioned Coral. I think it a better fit fro Rex than Coralie and it is rarely used. If you are not a fano f teh obvious word-name... than the simpler...

In searches for names outside the common realm of Vivienne, Valerie, Vanessa, Victoria and Veronica... I came across these beauties:

I really like Adeline, am wondering if it is too popular right now though. We had discussed Adelyn (too trendy) and Adilette.
Marcel is lovely as well. All of the names on your list strike my...

I've suggested Minerva repeatedly but DH just won't go for it. Minuet is on our list, but I am not sure I am brave enough to use it.
Meliora is my style, and Stellan would be as well. Will pass...

Nadia does seem to match his list better, so I mentioned it to him. He prefers Nadine... but Nadia is a pretty name.
Serena I never considered, though I had thought of Selena... will discuss that...
It seems Meadow is winning! I have to say, that I am happy to hear love for any of the names, so I will take it!
And, as mentioned before, my mom is on boardw ith this along with Dh so it might...
Melisande is my all-time favorite. I really even want to use it IRL. Dh is on board, but no one I have asked in my area can figure out how to pronounce it! boo hoo.
Anyway, here are some others I...
