I think DH and I have finally settled on the name Felicity for DD3. DDs 1 and 2 are Philippa Winter (we only ever call her Pippa, so although Philippa and Felicity are quite similar sounding, I...
Pippa Katherine sounds very Middleton stalker to me, but I love Pippa Delphine. Are you going with Philippa as the full version?

Alas, I actually love the name Ursula and would consider it if:
A) I had bigger baby naming cajones (the sea witch association is just too strong), and
B) if it had a snowball's chance in hell of...

Re Dorothea: Even though I live in the UK, I grew up in Kansas, so I expect the teasing would be brutal. So, I think it's now narrowed down to Theodora (Thea, which DH really likes) or Felicity. I...

I actually grew up with a set of 3 sisters whose names were Winter, Willow and Forest. :)

Not so keen on Morgana, sadly... just a little too close to Morgan Le Faye for me, and ai didn't particularly like her character... Genevieve and Isadora both feel a little to trendy to me (every...

Ack, bump to get ahead of the spam!

So, what about something like:
Theodora Susan/Susanne (to honour my mum?)
September 8th, 2015, 08:22 AM
Honestly happy to deviate from Susan, as long as the name has some sort of good meaning! I feel like anything ending in -a is going to be too much and would be good to maybe have just one of two...

So, following on from my earlier thread about needing fresh inspiration for DD3's name, Wilhelmina (nn Willa) and Theodora (nn Thea or Teddy) have both been approved by DH! Huzzah! DD1&2 are Philippa...

Right, so DH has vetoed Zara Delphine as 'too pretentious'. :( Thinks he'd be judged yelling it across a playground. Such a shame.
Moving on, Wilhelmina nn Willa/Mina and Theodora nn Thea are...

Wilhelmna (nn Mina?) Theodora (nn Thea or maybe Dot?), Claudia, Rosalind, Delphine and Antonia have all been on the list at some point. The first two could possibly work, though DH...

Penelope, by a mile. Elliana just feels too... frilly/bandwagon/try-hard.
September 7th, 2015, 03:37 PM
Moira was on my list! Sadly DH vetoed it. :(

Right, having spent the day lamenting that I don't looooove any of our (perfectly nice) choices, I'm taking things back to the drawing board with dd3's name to see if the mighty berries can wow me...

Winter and Gray are both meaningful/family names, though I do get that they're more modern than our current choices! The reason we've got Susan et al on the list is because they're also...

DD3 is due in 3 weeks and we really need to settle on a name! DD1 is Vivienne Gray and DD2 is Philippa Winter. Middle name is likely to be Susan, which is my mother's name (or some variant like...

Well Pip and Vivi are twins, so their names are said together more often than one might like! I do think the similarity might not be as big of a deal as I'm worrying it will be since we always call...
I voted for Primrose because I'm not a fan of repeating first initials in a sibset (Sylvie/Spencer). However, I think both Sylvie Rose and Sylvie Eloise flow better as names, so it's a close call for...

I'm unfortunately not as keen on Claudine or Claudette as they feel just a little too frilly for me! I see what you're saying though. So hard to find just the right fit!
June 10th, 2015, 01:27 PM
Should have mentioned that DD1's name is Vivienne, so the sibset would be Philippa, Vivienne and Claudia. Potential nickname maybe something like Laudie to go with Pippa and Vivi?

Our front runners for dd3 have been Felicity and Georgina, but today Claudia (which I've always loved) came back into the mix. What do you think? Better or worse than the other two names? Felicity is...
Thanks for the thoughts so far! Not super keen on Georgiana, even though it's a beautiful name, just because it feels a little too frilly to me.
Liking the Fey nickname idea!
Yes, my dilemma exactly. I think I actually prefer the name Felicity on its own, but I keep having that niggle about the similarity!
I prefer Sarah; the meaning is lovely and to me it sounds less harsh than Rachel.
