...Primrose Sadie Frances.
Who arrived earlier this week. She was born in a birthing pool in our front room weighing 8lb 14oz. Her birth was speedy and beautiful and she's adored by us all.
Thank you, that's all really helpful. I prefer the original pronunciation I think but in the UK an 'ie' ending is pronounced 'ee', so I imagine we'd be constantly correcting people unless we altered...
do you say O-tilly or (with the O like in box and emphasis on the first syllable) or o-TILL-ee (same o sound, emphasis on the second syllable.
I love the name, but can't seem to find a comfortable...

Thank you for the lovely feedback :) I'm excited to have finally settled on a name for our new girl!
There are loads it seems!
Can you help me list them? Particularly some of the more obscure ones, it'd be nice to have an unusual nickname with such a well known full name I think.
So far, I...

We've had a really hard time finding the perfect name for our fourth baby, we've been backwards and forwards and nothing seemed quite right. Any name one of us loved, the other didn't etc. I thought...
Asteria is a little close to hysteria for me, I like Astera though. Aster was on my list for a while but it doesn't fit with my other kids names.
Thank you, such great, helpful input!
Sadie, Frances & Claire are all family names, so I agree they're not the most original but they have meaning for us and our other children all have family...
Background: baby #4 is due in August, we live in the UK, just outside London and our surname is 3 syllables, beginning with W, ending in s.
There are lots of names I like, but I'm struggling to...
I think it's one of those names where you can influence the pronunciation because not many people will be familiar with it.
I'm in the UK and naturally say Oh-tilly (pronouncing the first sound...

I deliberately picked long, formal names with a lot of nickname potential so that it gave us scope to tailor the name slightly to fit the child and allows them to reinvent themselves if they wish.

Thank you for the suggestions :)
I'm quite keen on Elizabeth, Constance, Juliette and Jessamine.
We pronounce Madeleine with a 'lin' sound at the end.
This will be our last baby and it's so...

Baby #4 is a little girl, due at the end of the summer. Current siblings are:
Madeleine Rose (curly brown hair, brown eyes, independent & confident. Often found up trees or making things from...
Thanks all, I adore the combination Isadora Primrose, unfortunately my husband hates it as much as I love it. He likes Jemima because it reminds him of a girl he had a crush on when he was 15...
Our 2nd daughter is due soon and we're really struggling to agree on names...
He likes- Jemima
I like - Isadora & Primrose
The only names we sort of both like are Florence & Sadie.
Thanks, I really don't want to use it as a first name as it is though, I like that my kids have long names which can be shortened (or not) as they choose. It was something that I really appreciated...
Thanks for the input :)
I really love Primrose, and despite the already having used Rose as a mn, I'm reluctant to let it go.
Unfortunately, H has a sister named Cassie, so 'Cas' names are...
We're expecting baby #4 in August, it'll be our 2nd daughter & last child. I'd really like to use my Nanny's name as she passed away last year, her name was Sarah, but she was known as Sadie.

We also have a Gabriel James, his siblings are Madeleine Rose (Madeleine is not so popular in the UK yet) and Nathaniel Ray. They get shortened inevitably to Maddie or Moo and Thaniel.
I'm all named out! I'm expecting baby #4 in August and I'm finding it really tough to decide on her name, I've read lists and lists of names, and am left feeling a bit 'meh' over nearly all of them....

Primrose - I adore this name, it's my favourite so far, but I'm yet to convince my husband. I love the idea of shortening it to Posie too.
Prudence - I think this is clunky, quirky cool, and the...

Other boys in our family:
Thanks for all the input, I love Sadie, but because it was my Nanny's name, it doesn't really fit my naming style otherwise, I've always gone for longer names which have a few cute shortenings.
Thanks for all your comments, it's all so helpful!
Gemma is quite a dated name in the UK, it was very popular in the 80's, I went to school with loads of Gemmas, so it doesn't feel like a baby...
