Before my daughter Alice was born, we debated about using the middle name Dorothea, which honors her paternal grandmonther and my favorite great-aunt or my last name Younglove. I love my last name...
My four month old (Alice) just started daycare recently. I'm loving the names of the babies in her room: Astrid, Ella, Henry, Issac and Anabelle. I read the birth announcements in my community quite...

Go to the baby center post on baby names and then scroll down and click "see all comments" --> http://www.babycenter.com/0_how-to-pick-a-name-for-your-baby_1505.bc
It's terrifying and hilarious....
Thanks for the link to the unfairly dated blog post agirlinred. I love the middle name suggestion as it avoids the Bev nickname that people seem to be wary of.
Just finished reading Beverly Cleary's autobiography and it occurred to me that the name Beverly is not getting nearly the same love and attention that other same-vintage similar sounding names like...

I think what throws me off is that the first and last names would both have 4 letters with the middle two of each being doubles (two ls, two rs). When looking at it written down it just seems a tad...
Yesterday while doing some genealogy, I stumbled across a relative named Lydia Quirk. Quirk was listed as her official middle name. How awesome is that? I can imagine a really kick-a** television or...

My first grandmother had two names because she was adopted. My other grandmother changed her name in kindergarden and later legalized the change.
Thank you. It just seems too perfect. I don't want to pick a back-up!
My husband and I really love the name Alice for our baby (and we found out today that it's a girl -- hooray!). My name is April and occasionally, when I was a little girl, people would mistakenly...

Amelie and . . .
Say: Wow! What lovely classical names.
Think: I like the literary nod, but together these sound a bit too heavy.
This is my son Everett.
I just found out I'm six weeks pregnant. I've been a fan of Nameberry since the site came online and am totally excited to have a legitimate excuse to daydream about names. I have a solid list for...

My favorites on you boys lists are Caspian or Justinian. I like your girl picks, with the exceptions of Nova and Clementina. Those two read very contemporary and modern to me, rather than ancient and...

Lirpa. My parents used to call me this every time I mixed up my right with my left. I found it annoying.

I have not heard this name before. It seems a bit like trying to make Anton unique. I prefer the girl's name Antonia if you are looking to honor an Anthony or Anton.
Bay is pretty much the perfect boy's name for that sibset -- I'm thinking in the middle to follow their trend.

Aubrey, Ruby, Ingrid. At first, these names don't all have an intuitive link to me. I'm going to try to put a finger on your style though and I'd say it is women's names that sound strong (not...
2 things. #1. Jessica is a lovely name. #2. I have no idea what the poster above is talking about when she says Harper doesn't sound like an adult name. Has she been to a doctor lately? My doctors...
What about Honor for a girl? Jefferson for a boy (or insert preferred presidential name here). I also like Hero or Justine (links to justice).

How fun! My suggestions for girls:
Flower names (Daisy/Margret, Lillian, Violet etc.).
Gemstone names (Ruby, Pearl, Opal, Jade etc.).

To me Clarissa does not seem dated in quite the same way as Alyssa and Melissa, but that may just be because I've never actually met a Clarissa. It does remind me of the television show "Clarissa...
