Do you say it:
Mar-ga-ret with a short E sound like net,
or do you say
Mar-grit, like pit.
So, I love Therese, but only pronounced the French way; Thérèse prn more like te-REZ or te-RAIZE. Not at all a fan of the te-REESE prn.
I'm wondering though if here in the U.S. having people prn...
I do realize that the connection isn't obvious, but the letters are there. It's kind of like Betsy or Libby for Elizabeth, if you get what I mean. Although, those are established and recognized as...
Does the nickname Hattie work for Katharine?
Also, what it's your opinion of Kitty as a nickname? Someone suggested to me that Kitty sounds "hookerish". I've always thought of it as more of a...
Keeping with the theme you have, how about
Nora or Elspeth for a girl
Eamon or Graham for a boy

I like Maggie best but I'm not so sure about it as a given name. Personally I'd give a formal name and use Maggie as a nickname. Elodie would be my second choice.

I'm looking for a middle that starts with a K to honor my mom, Karen. Karen itself isn't my favorite but I'd consider it. I was thinking some variation of Katherine.
Carys Evonne, hands down.

Mary is a lovely name! I know a nine month old Mary and it's so cute on her. It's truly a name any age can wear. Mary Eliza is a great spunky alternative to Mary Elizabeth too. You could really put...
