I have to agree with @bskelton, I too thought immediately of porter potty.
If Philpott was my last name, I'd focus on finding a name that will counterbalance the quirky last name. If classic,...
I have a general question. I use the Social Security website to research baby name usage. But my favorite names are frequently "outside the top 1000." Yet, I see numbers posted on them on other...
We're bilingual and while we definitely incorporated both our heritages into the middle names, we chose an American first name that would be totally differently pronounced in my country of origin,...

Thank you @bonfireazalea!
So many great names here!
Evangeline is great, just a bit too Christian-sounding for me.
Lumi and Maris are on my list!! I totally forgot about Lumi. So many great...

I love Elowen- adding to the list!!
Persephone is my guilty pleasure name. It's pretty much perfect in every way, except that it's the name of a Goddess of the...

Thank you @ionathedaisy!
Idunn is great, but I agree, might be hard to pronounce. Seren is great too, have not heard this one yet!

I'd totally go for Lourdes, but somehow Madonna naming her daughter this makes me hesitate. Great name though, maybe I'll look for other places of pilgrimage!
I like Cybele and Selene! Thank you :)
WAR are definitely initials I'd try to avoid.
You could switch the names to AWR,
Or you could add a second middle name so the initials might become something like WAMR.
Hmm.. They're both great, and I love Azure! I'd say you can't go wrong with either. Vivienne does seem to add a bit more flow to the name, whereas Vivian makes the name a bit more staccato, but both...
I love Seraphine, it's currently my top contender should our next one be a girl.
I do wonder the same as it's a gorgeous and somehow underused name. There's Jennifer Garner's & Ben Affleck's...
Zephyr is on the list.. Rune is on my girl's list! I love Amos, but DH vetoed it (Famous Amos.) otherwise it would def be on my shortlist!

I do love Bodhi, and it was on our list. It's currently trending in our area, so it's not a top contender right now, but I should add it back to the list BC it does fit our criteria.

I'm looking for more subtly spiritual/ethereal names to add to my list for our second child. We have a son named Sage, so should go well with that.
Leaning towards an "underused ancient/older name...

Ivy Quinn sounds more distinguished to me and flows better. And you cannot beat the IQ initials! Ivy Winter sounds a little blah in comparison (only in comparison though.)
Lavinia Pearl is gorgeous! I like the nn suggestion of Liv/Livie. I feel like it's a big, beautiful name with history, not cutesy, so it works for all ages.

Another vote for Cecily!
I'm not familiar with the name Bryony.
What is the name of the twin boy? Lachlan or O'Malley? Or Lachlan O'Malley?

I love Leaves as a girls name, but it's way too soft and the meaning doesn't add any backbone to the name, either. So I wouldn't actually use the name for a person. Maybe for a cat, one day.
Hmm good point.. I have Luka/Luca on my list.. Would that work? Luka/Luca nn Lux?
For me, nicknames have to be very intuitive.. I love a creative nickname, but know it wouldn't feel right if, eg.,...

Thank you @joelleail, from your list I feel like Sage and Linden work really well together.
Anyone got any ideas on subtly spiritual names? We love about Sage that it means "wise" as well as the...
Wow! You have some great names on your list.
Love Sarai! That's on my list as well :)
I like Boaz & Sarai if they're boy & girl.

I'm loving the feedback so far! Thank you!
I've read around on other sites and some people seem to feel that Lux sounds cheap or even trashy-- association with Deluxe or Luxury.
I do feel that...

@flowermae Brooks is awesome! Sadly it's out for us as we have a water in our last name- so no to Brooks, River, Lake Etc :(
I like Tate too, but Sharon Tate is a strong association that I can't...
Poll: Lux as a boy's name?
I'm currently loving the name Lux. It's Latin for "light." Despite the word being actually feminine in Latin, I feel like the -x ending makes this totally an option for a boy's name....
