Cubby - I agree Cubby would get teased terribly as Chubby - also the name of someone on Jack and The Neverland Pirates which is super popular with kids right now so I'd avoid. I think Jacob nn Cub or...

If you were not planning on using matching initials for a sibling set of more than 2 children (ie, planning on having 3-4+ kids), would you name child #2 with the same initial at #1 if you loved the...
I don't think you're wrong to not be excited.
I do think you should go anyway. Even if you're just being suckered into babysitting the bigger kids...it's not their fault and they're family. If...
My kids will likely share a room even if we eventually get enough space for them not to. If we have a boy they'll share until puberty starts....if two girls they can share until they ask otherwise....

I'm just expecting #2, and my daughter is 20 months, so will be almost 2.5 when the next baby is born.
We actually started trying when she was around 7 months, but then took a break due to...
It's my understanding that newborns aren't typically allergic to environmental allergens because they need to be exposed to it out of utero in order to develop an allergy.
Newborns sneeze a ton,...
I agree there's nothing wrong with formula feeding, but as breastfeeding is definitely healthier, I would strongly weigh the pros and cons.
I only know one woman who chose not to breastfeed at...
I absolutely don't think you need to get her an expensive registry gift!
My friend who threw me a shower gave me a baby book she made (she's an artist/printmaker) and a diaper bag, which I think...

I called my grandparents Mimi and Pop. I only had one set.
My daughter has three sets of grandparents. She doesn't speak yet, so this is what we refer to everyone:
Grandma & grandpa (but he...

The above posted offered good advice. Make sure he knows that you're willing to talk or listen, but otherwise try to distract him and create positivity around him without pushing him to discuss it....

I use cloth, and my daughter has never had a poo blowout in her cloth diapers. She has in her disposables.
We bought sun baby pocket diapers. The pros is they are high quality diapers for cheap,...
Still (or rather again) TTC but SO just got a promotion (yay) but unfortunately this means we've barely had time to eat a meal together, much less try for a baby. We've done it so little this month...
One suggest might be to lightly swaddle her in just a diaper, and then when you go to sleep, at midnight or so, tuck a lightweight blanket over her (being careful it can't go over her face).

It was about a month until my due date when we decided...maybe 6 weeks. I know a few babies who weren't named at all until after birth - some aren't even named until they come home!
Oh, I wanted to add I wouldn't let my daughter play on a phone or iPad at a dinner or something. Nothing drives me more insane than attending a children's party and seeing kids sitting at an adult...
I was pretty set on no tv before 2 when my daughter was born, but my SO is addicted to Netflix and her grandparents always put tv on for her, so that went out the window.
She'll watch a few...

Contrary to what another poster said, there are many studies proving progestin only birth control is safe while breast feeding, and it's been used for many years.
It CAN affect your supply, but...
I *think* we've chosen Tatiana as a name for our next daughter. It's not my first choice, but SO loves it and I like it quite a bit, it's growing on me more and more.
I can't think of a good...
I adore the name Lilac!
All your combos are lovely, but I'd avoid Acacia Lilac as it's heavy on the botanical names!
I'm definitely not pregnant this cycle :(
SO was a bit relieved as he was nervous is been drinking a bit this cycle. Not binge drinking to any extent, but more than just one drink. Does anyone...

I think the answer to the question when to have a baby is when you and your partner want one, you think it will benefit your previous children, and you can care for them.
Remind your parents that...

I don't think so...the story isn't as well known as, say, Romeo and Juliet, and you won't always use the middle in daily life, anyway!
I had symptoms from a few days before my missed period with Lillian, but not typical ones. I was extremely achy, had joint and hip pain, fatigued, and thought I was getting the flu.
I did feel that during pregnancy, but not until a bit later (maybe 15-20 weeks? I can't remember!)
It could also be a muscle strain or even gas pain, so I wouldn't read too much into it
