This is a tough one for me to answer. Belinda is my mom's name, so I have a soft spot for it, I guess. At the same time...I sort of understand where people are coming from when they're commenting...
I had a vaginal birth with my daughter, but she got stuck in the birth canal and a vacuum had to be used to get her out. There weren't any long-term complications for either of us from that birth,...

I would never give a child free reign over naming their sibling. I think their input is so cute, though! Earlier in my pregnancy, I would ask my 2-year-old "what do you think we should name the new...
It took us a year to conceive our daughter and a month to conceive this baby. I wasn't using any hormonal birth control between the two pregnancies, but I was on a combination pill before we decided...

It's a little hissy with so many Ss, but I don't think that should be a deal breaker if it doesn't bother you. Silas is a great name!
This is tough. Both are perfectly acceptable spellings. I feel like Margot has a little more authenticity. I also think it's a familiar enough name that most adults shouldn't struggle with...

My husband and I were like that when we first started getting to know each other. We both just knew what we wanted and we weren't interested in playing games. We talked about everything. No topic was...

I called my dad's parents Grandma and Grandpa and my mom's parents Grammy and Grampy. My husband calls his mom's parents Grandma and Grandpa and his dad's parents Granny and PopPop.
I used to have a student named Maren. She was so cute! One of my childhood best friends was named Marina.

We didn't really do anything special with our daughter. We didn't find out whether we were having a boy or a girl until birth, so after she was born my husband just sort of announced it. It was 2:00...

Oh, this is easy!
Moira Violet and Seamus Archer
My daughter Maura was almost named Moira. I loved Violet as a first or middle, it's my favorite color, but hubby vetoed it.

My favorite (at the moment) is Howl's Moving Castle. My brother gave me the DVD for Christmas and my daughter and I watched it every day for over a week. My daughter is 2 and she loves Studio Ghibli...
I like Mila best with Luca. Serafina would be my second choice. I like Willa, but it doesn't have the same European flair as Luca, Mila, and Serafina. I dislike Sloane.
It's dated, but I think it's the sort of name that would be really easy to work in as a middle name if it's sentimental to you.

I wouldn't recommend it for siblings, but for cousins it doesn't matter. I'm Kathryn and I have a cousin named Kathleen. It's never been an issue.
If it's prefect in every other way, I wouldn't let popularity stop you from using it. It's lovely!
Maura is an Irish form of Mary, so it sort of honors my great-grandma Mary and DH's great-grandma Maria. DH is also Catholic, so Mary names are significant in that way, too. DD's middle name,...

I don't think Poplin works as a name. A couple others have already pointed it out, but poplin is a type of fabric. It's like the stuff khaki pants are made of. That doesn't seem particularly...
I think it's a cool name, but I imagine how well it's received in real life will depend on where you're located. There is a popular radio DJ where I live named Lazlo, so most people are familiar with...

I think alliteration can sound fantastic or a little cartoonish, it just depends on the specific names. I don't think it should necessarily be a deal breaker, though. My daughter's first and last...

For me it's Seamus. Since I was little, I always imagined I'd grow up and have a son and name him after my twin brother James. My husband is Irish and wants our kids to have Irish names, so Seamus...

My first thought was Violet. Vivi or Letty could work as nicknames.

Maura - she's sometimes called Mo
Brigid - maybe Bridy?
Fiona - Fee
Gwen - it's already a nickname.
Patrick - Paddy
Seamus - I dunno...Shay?
Niall - I don't think it can be shortened....

When I was pregnant with Maura, I had a very vivid dream that I went into labor and had the baby on June 4th and it was a boy named Patrick (which is what we had planned on calling her if she had...
