I think a 2-syllable K last name is OK with the name Quinn... a one-syllable K name could sound awkward, but you should be fine.
Gertrude reminds me either of an old lady in a nursing home or of a bookish, "nerdy" seven-or-eight-year-old with thick glasses who feels insecure about herself in many ways.

I would personally pronounce it Av-uh-line with a long "I" on the last syllable...but I normally pronounce things in strange ways.
