So about a month ago my sister and her boyfriend and I started fostering a trio of orphaned kittens. We were so busy taking care of them that we didn't exactly give them names. They have been known...

I agree with you, these games are fairly offensive and could stir up sensitive memories for some people. Besides the vast majority of miscarriages are not given names, especially early miscarriages....

I'd go Garrison or Burgess personally. I don't know what you think about associations but Beckham makes me think David. I didn't get the Wizards of Waverly place reference actually. I'm more against...

Browsing for names for characters I've come across a few unusual old names, for girls at the moment boys I'll probably add those I start looking for them. These are the ones that caught my attention,...

The consensus seems to be that it's not good. But if you want to use it here's my opinion. Linky does sort of seem hipster, which is what your character is. I'd make Linky a nickname, and have real...
Initial thought was 'Burette doesn't go in a fantasy!' Thought it sound like a surname, but looking at it a little longer I think it would work. It is definitely unique. As far as the lab equipment...

I haven't written something in too long and I need some name suggestions. I'm trying to write something post-apocolyptic, and I want names you don't see much, but don't look or sound stupid and over...
I like Eva, Gemma, and Lydia best. I can't remember where Eva ranked but Gemma and Lydia aren't names you hear very often.

That being said I don't see anyone in the US using it in the near future, but it's never been popular here anyways. It's common for names with bad associations to current events...
I don't think changing a child's name will necessarily rob them of their heritage. It's up to the parents to keep their adopted child connected to their heritage. Heritage is more than just a name. I...

My Uncle and his wife had a new baby girl named River. I think it's nice, uncommon but not crazy. Her brothers are Conner, Fletcher, and Vander. People in my graduating class have started having kids...

I graduated in 2010. The majority of my class had typical early 90s names.
