@prairiekeeper, we're passing so many middle names back and forth!
What do you think of:
Iona Phoebe Myrtle
Iona Marianne Posy
Thanks so much for the feedback. getting pretty excited about this one now.
I loved it for my last baby, and am thinking about it a lot again.
What does everyone think?
After clinging on to our final two names--Ida and Isolde--for a long long time, my partner finally admitted that he had gone off them (probably, I grimly have to admit, in the process of the long...

We're awaiting the birth of either a Wilf or an Ida/Isolde.
Stuck between these last two names-
I love the soft 'old charm' of Ida, but it also has a kind of 'newness' which appeals to me, and...

Hi,, I really like a lot of these suggestions, particularly:
Ida Myrtle Beatrix
Ida Myrtle Josephine
Ida Marianne Olive
Isolde Saskia Ruth
Isolde Magnolia Olive
Isolde Cecily Joan
Am reading 'Room' by Emma Donoghue
and have been making my way through 'Infinite Jest' for many months now (anyone got to the end?)
Sometimes my kids genuinely scare me with the things they come out with- especially in public places.
I thought it would be fun to start a thread to share the weird, 'quirky' and sometimes...

I LOVE both Emke and Uma
Both, to me, are very pronounceable and very attractive (this is to an English ear)
If I had to pick one I would lean toward Emke with sister Milou and brother Finn!
My friend's daughter is a Mary but the overcame the meaning issue by naming her Mary Dulce!
Maybe a middle name whose meaning offsets 'bitter', and even makes it into a positive thing, would help!

Aided by some feedback from the NB tribe and by lots of "debate" we are down to a list of three.
We're planning to use two middle names, as we...

Martha? Harriet? Cora? Thea?
I think Nora is especially great from your list, and I love the suggestion of Bea!
This is all v useful:
I'm surprised and pleased that Isolde is getting so much approval.
Lavinia is an old favourite but feels much more usable now than it did in my first pregnancy (when I first...
Any opinions on Ida?
Dying to know if it really is just us who like it!
Juno Saskia does sound beautiful.
Of the suggestions I really love Eudora. Definitely one to think about.
I also love Ida-- I know it's very old fashioned by a lot of people's tastes, but I...

Your sons' names are among my absolute favourites. Seth is so refreshing to hear, especially!
I think Ezra is the most striking with your boys.
Followed by Grey...which I also like, but feel has a...
Pregnant much sooner than expected with my final little guy/gal.
For a boy we're pretty decided on the name Oisin (or, alternatively Wilfred, nickname Wilf)
On the girls side,...

oh my! double take- this is almost exactly my girls' name.
congratulations and enjoy these first precious months
We're considering it as a middle name...but this pretty much confirms my fears that its never gonna go down well with anyone else. Thank you for the honest opinion!
I ask this with trepidation (because I really love this one)
but what are people's first impressions/opinions on Igor?
refreshing or terrible?

I really love Willa.
Have been concerned when coasting this site that it has become very trendy- thoughts?
Is it just a Nameberry popularity spike, or one which is reflected in actual births?

Thanks for the responses.
I like Dulcinea but can't picture saying it on a daily basis 1000X- Lavinia kind of smooches into three syllables, whilst Dulcinea remains a resolute four. Plus it...

I gave my kids two middle names based on tradition! I have two, my siblings have two, and my mother has two. I've always found the idea that it's 'pretentious' pretty dispiriting. Names are tied to...
