What full names could Lanie/Laney be a nickname for? All I can think of is Elaine or Elena.
This is the reason we eliminated Eloise from consideration. Both my husband and I have asthma, as does our son. If DD has asthma and struggles with it like we all have, I would HATE to have anyone...
Thank you, everyone! It's really nice to hear from so many of you that we have some great choices and maybe they're not as common as they seem based on message boards. I do know they've all been on...
Thanks for the suggestions so far!
Maybe they feel more popular because I keep seeing them on message boards, but it does seem like they're all on the rise. How far they end up moving on the...
I've been on here before and gotten some great suggestions, so I thought I'd try again. Our dilemma is that every name on our list is currently on the rise, and I really desperately want to avoid...
I like it a lot! Eliza is one of my top contenders, and Annabel is pretty as well. Good choice!

Yeah, I'm afraid it's headed for the top 10, although it still would never be as widespread as Jennifer, as others have pointed out. I'm bummed because it's my husband's top choice at this point for...

Thanks, everyone! This is so helpful. I sort of agree on Charlotte's popularity, though I do like it, but I also worry that all the others are basically rising in popularity, so I'm a little afraid...

I've posted on here before, but my husband and I are really stuck on a first name for DD, who is due to arrive in two months. We haven't gotten any closer to figuring it out, so I thought I'd post...

Lots of "a" endings, but the middle names are family names, so I don't mind the flow issues. First names are my three favorites right now.
Thanks for the feedback. I think the alliteration would be fine, especially seeing that many seem to agree - I guess it's the future popularity that concerns me more.
I know some people will use...
-Do you like the name?
-How do you feel about the alliteration of Clara K***ler? Both two syllables with the stress on the first syllable. Too cheesy/cutesy sounding?
-How popular do you...

Aveline is the name of my niece (pronounced A vuh leen) and would give you that nickname pretty naturally.

I love it! It's one of my top picks at this point. I was worried about trendiness/popularity too, but then I looked at the national trends over the past decade, and it increased a little in...

I think they're definitely different enough, especially with the nn Lulu - not similar to Ella at all.

Our lists have a lot of crossover, and my husband likes Eloise (I'm still deciding on that one). I would go with Lucy or Tessa, personally. I don't think any of them sound wrong with Violet, but...

Thanks for the opinions, everyone!

I probably shouldn't have included the middle name, since it's not really a factor for us, even if the flow doesn't work as well with many of the others. Lucy is on the bottom end for me - haha, but...

These are a combination of my favorites and those of my husband. The middle name is of family significance, and I'm not too bothered by the flow of any of the combinations. Feel free to leave a...
-Would you spell it Juliet or Juliette?
-How bad does it sound with the middle name Giovanna (Jo-VAH-nuh)? Obviously they're both three syllables and start with the J sound. Not ideal, but using...
Well said! I was trying to figure out how to say all that, myself :)
I know Eloise is least likely to climb all the way up to the top, but it's almost my least favorite of those choices. Charlotte I feel like I can't seriously consider because of how fast it's risen...
Yup, Margot is my vote too.
How popular do you think the following are going to get before they start declining in popularity? Are any headed for top 10? top 50?
Juliet - It was ranked nationally in the 900s in the 1980s...

Great, thanks everyone. You've been such a huge help for me during this process. We'll see where my husband and I land eventually - time to ponder and think things over for a while!
