I think Seraphine or Cressida, although if you went with Cressida I wouldn't have a nickname. I do think that Alexandra is too common, even with a different nickname. I really like Cressida, myself,...

Alright, so let me start with this: I love your story idea and your characters. Although based on this I don't get a really good idea of how these characters will be interacting in the story, they...

Thank you to everyone who had suggestions!
So far, I've decided based on people's reactions that I should keep Atlas Reede. I also think I'm going to change the mother's name to either Genevieve...
I don't have anything new to add (sorry) but I wanted to say that I especially liked Cressida, Seraphine, and Valentine from the other replies (although may I suggest Valentina?)
Sorry I wasn't...

While Andrew is a fairly boring name, at some point you have to accept that the character is the character and the name is a very small part of that. Think about it. Your parents don't know your...

I personally dislike the name Franklin, but I think it works fine with the sibset if that's what you decide to go with. Some other options for a name there would be Grayson, Lincoln, Killian,...

I'm currently writing a novel about a girl who experiences a different mental illness or problem every day, and her search for why this is happening to her. (For example, she's a kleptomaniac one day...
My personal favorite is Avalynn, nickname Ava or Lynn
Character 1: Jocelyn, Valentina, Nicoletta, Azalea
Character 2: Foster, Killian, Jaxon, Emerson
Character 3: Deidre, Bridget, Annalise
Character 4: Tony/Toby, Ajax, Axel, Christopher nn...
Darnell is the main name I can find. Personally, I like Wren Hansen but I'm not a fan of Wren Holt. I would have a last name with multiple syllables to balance out the abruptness of a one-syllable...
I like the character a lot and I love the nickname Jules. My only concern would be that the ending sounds for Bella, Lila and Julia might be a little too similar. Perhaps Bella could be shortened to...

I just looked through some of your replies, and I have to say that while Sethe makes sense for your character, I would be wary of using it because people might not be sure how to pronounce it. Is it...

From your list, I liked Amaya for the first wife, Nadia or Riva for the second wife, and Shivani for the third. I don't have any new suggestions right now, but if I think of something later, I'll...
I don't have anything to add (sorry) but I especially like Kieran from the previous post! Also, how do you pronounce Toussaint? (just curious).
I think the base names you have are really good, but you should drop some of the unusual spellings. The use of 'y' as a vowel in these names, in an effort to make them more contemporary/unusual, can...
I'm starting a new novel, and I'm looking for opinions on the name I have picked out so far.
A little background first, though. My 3 previous novels have been more deep fantasy--stuff set in other...
I like Brielle a lot, so I would keep that. Also, I like cilesuns92's suggestion of just changing it to Nathan. You could also do: Ethan, Hayden, William
MC: Nicole, Brynne, Serena, Natasha nn Tasha
2nd: I like the name!
3rd: Daniel, Colt, Austin, Sebastian

I don't know if that's enough to go on.....is there anything else you can tell us about her? More about her personality, her tendencies, her appearance; anything, really.
What kinds of names are...

@dearestjules, Yeah, I've read If I Stay, and now that you mention it, they are quite similar (although Austin's depression plays a bigger part than Cleo's car accident, and yes, she goes by Cleo.)

@Aoife, I really like the last name Ashford for the doctor, and Ryan as a last name rather than a middle name (Cleopatra Ryan has a nice ring to it). Thanks!
@amberdaydream, Devlin is a great...
I love Inka. I would say Inka Sorenson, though.

The characters in my new WIP (a realistic fiction teenage love story that strives to be not a cliche and not a rip off of The Fault in Our Stars) need help with their names.
September 15th, 2014, 06:27 PM
1. Cora, Fiona, Naomi, Jacqueline nn Jackie, Bridget, Brynne, Elizabeth nn Ellie
2. Elijah (although not if MC is name Ellie), Jaxon, Heath, Gabriel nn Gabe, Sebastian, Seth
3. Maria, Nina, Sofia,...
