Yeah, we do love his name, 5 years later. Although, a lab named Oscar seems pretty dapper too!
Short and spunky:
Her daughter is already Cecily, so I doubt they'll be changing it just to make Ottilie more plausible in the case of a future daughter. ;)
I think they are similar due to the exact same cadence and ending sounds. It'd be too close for my personal comfort, but on someone else's kids I probably wouldn't blink an eye.
Of your choices,...
Jean Louise. Well, it's sturdy and solid, definitely no frills here. However, it sticks out like a sore thumb with the uber girly Mia, Sophia, Isabella, Olivia, Ava, Rosalie, Isla type names that are...

Er? Wouldn't you think of -ine names first?
Vintage ending in a:
No matter the first name, Pear just sounds bizarre. Cleo Clementine is fruity and the alliteration makes it quirky too.
Hi girls, can I join? I haven't read the entire thread (it's long!) but I did read the last few pages.
I'm Mei Mei and my husband and I have a 5 year old son, Oscar. We have tried off and on...

The others have all covered why the opks might not be working. You don't want first morning urine, you should test twice a day, you maybe o'ed at a different time or not at all. Even a positive opk...
Eve is lovely. It's feminine, but strong and no-frills; I find it sleek and sophisticated. Evie is perfect for a little girl. It works fine with Raphael.
Eve Thomasina is stunning.
I think Georgiana begs for something a bit more subdued. Georgiana Rose fits the bill.m

Ava Rosemary- Ava is not my cup of tea, but Rosemary gives it some vintage charm. It's a nice pairing.

Artemis - kick-ass goddess, fairly familiar if not common.

Just a quick ranking:
Walter Malcolm- very distinguished. I like this one.
Malcolm Harvey- Malcolm is great and Harvey isn't so stodgy as to ruin it.
Harvey Malcolm - same
Desmond Harvey -...
Wait, is this a name for a dog or cat?
I don't really like Agatha or James with Phoebe, but it doesn't really matter on a pet.
Allegra does come across as musical, and also light and exuberant. I am not deterred by the allergy medication, despite being American. I also grew up watching Allegra's Window, but that doesn't...
I love Zinnia. Alot. It's like my favorite name. However, with Sage it's just too much. Pearl, I could possibly handle. Grace, Faye, Joy, June, etc. all ok. Sage is just way to plant-y with it, and...
Thank you all so much for your thoughts. Looks like I need to move Jasper/Caspar over to the guilty pleasures list, but they really are too close to Oscar. Thanks again for the help． ：）
Wow, thank you all so much for the feedback! It's interesting seeing everyone's takes on my favorites. happymama1, I'm not currently pregnant or trying; maybe next year or so, but I'll be sure to let...
I'm sorry, but the idea of Ottilie or Adelaide being trendy is laughable. I guarantee that the average joe American has never even heard of Ottilie before. And Ophelia is popular, but not even on the...

Sylvie is a French name in it's own right; it certainly has enough gravitas to stand alone. If anyone asks, tell them Sylvie is the French form of Sylvia and leave it at that.
Adrienne? I think Adrian and Avery are super handsome, stylish names- for boys.
Otherwise, how about Evelyn up front?
