Our baby is now approaching 2 weeks and we haven't chosen a name, it's getting harder each day. Fate seems to have chosen Ombeline for us, but anytime I share it with a relative they react with a...

She's now 9 days and we still haven't chosen a definite name. Though it was very encouraging that a few berries said that sometimes the name picks you and it looks like we found it.

Also going to add
I can accumulate names, but matching them with middles and with my baby, that is the hard part

I caught my husband calling her Ombeline. I have to almost catch myself from using it, I don't want to pick one so soon. That said…She reminds me of the feeling of being by an open door during a...

What would you name her? She looks round faced and friendly, quiet and strong.
Ombeline was my wildcard name, it's the most fitting. Adelaide, Brunhilda - cool but a bit macho paired with last...

Also, who cares if it offends them, it's a name. If someone was offended by your name would you change it?

--Just going to do a drive by novel of quotes from around the net--
Sexually promiscuous and controlling woman? Sounds like an empowered woman who makes decisions about her body instead of letting...
In defence of the unprepared parents I have this to say; how is anyone ever prepared to be a first time parent? What a baby really needs isn't a full baby registry or a business tycoon for a parent....

Our baby girl is due tomorrow! February 14th, Valentine's Day.

My husband and I are absolutely obsessed with all things organic and non-toxic. It takes a lot of research to sift out all the greenwashing and trendiness from the truly safe products. I won't bore...

Loire is more like Lwar with a rolled R. One syllable. I've never heard it said in English as two syllables, although English speakers don't generally roll Rs.

It's the name of a friend's dog, I can't shake that long enough to appreciate it as a person's name. Same deal with Leo, and a lot of people think that is a perfectly acceptable name for a child.
Ansel and Hansel are both old, rare, and sound nice. Hansel nn Hans. Sounds like Hanz/Hunts when my German relatives say it. Is there a nn for Ansel? Ansel is softer and a tad more refined the Hansel.
Sébastien Lucero is my husband's name. His family wanted Lucero in there, they thought just using my last name was selfish. I think they wouldn't be saying that if I left out my last name :P My...
Ludwig (pronounced Ludvig)
I'm a big fan of Ludwig II of Bavaria, the last king of a country that became part of Germany. The Bavarians are the ones that wore dirndls and lederhosen....
Lyralei is a a combination of two really great names. Though Lorelei is said lore-a-lie, not lore-a-lay.
Lyralei would be said Lie-ra-lie. For Lie-ra-lay it would be Lyralai, Lyralay, Lyralae,...

Jessica is overused, and boring. It's my name and I grew up hating it. I know a lot of Jessica's and they tend to not like their name either. Maybe it's less popular for newborn then mid 20 year...
Lucius - Luke
Thaddeus - Tad, Thad
Leander - Leon??
Can anyone suggest middles for Gabriel __ Lucero Scholze?
Gabriel Aurélien Lucero Scholze is cool.
These don't flow as middles, but are in our style: Atticus, Lucian, Tiberius,...
Still hoping to find a nice middle, Althea is topping the middle list for my husband and I. I am considering Velora, but it's a bit unwieldy sandwiched between Aurelia and Lucero Scholze....
Winners: Elodie, Madeline, Emeline, Juliette
Amélie - everyone will associate her with the one fr movie they know.
Aurélie - This is sort of popular in Quebec...
At one point Aurélia Vesper was on my list but dh thought it sounded like viper.
Velora is a cool name, Elora had been on the list because of the nn Lore.
How do you pronounce Ysaline?
Aurélia Althea Lucero Scholze
Pretty, and flows well because of the rolled R in Au-rrel-ee-ah (French). Althea is said in English and not in French otherwise it would be al-tay-ah. still we may be...
