I went with Scout, even though I really loved Harper, because Harper was just too popular.
I think of Scout when I think of an outdoorsy girl
I taught a Maysen, but she was a girl, so I think that might be a bit too girly for a boy. But, it's a thought...

I love Edison and Harrison for a boy (both were on my list). I have a little girl named Emerson, and I love it every day. I think it works with Amelia just fine. One thing to think about is- if...

I love, love Ryan or Ryann on a girl. My husband vetoed it right away when we got pregnant, but I still secretly wish we had used it. Eoin Grantham is cool, but I wonder if he would get sick of...
While it is important to take vitamins, be insured, be on sort of the same page about child rearing, and be able to financially afford a baby... I also think that people who plan to wait until the...
While it is not a new suggestion, I love, love Gemma Scout, from your signature line. My little girl's name is Emerson (Emy) Scout, and I am still wildly in love with her name (and probably always...

This year I have:
Jesse (boys) (2) and a Jessie (girl)
Alexis (2 both boys)
I am one of "those people" who has a daughter named Emerson. I love it- she is a girly girl, but has tough boy qualities too. I definitely do not regret my name choice at all. We do call her Emy...
Love it. It takes a classic and makes it fun.
My name is Avis, and, in fact, it is a family name, so I am Avis #4. All of us get the car rental jokes from time to time (I just ignore them or say yeah like the car rental), but I like my name a...

My little gal is Emerson, but it could work for a boy too. My little guy- due soon!- is most likely going to be McIntire- so I obviously like surnames for first names.

My favorite is Emerson- happens to be my daughter's name.

I voted for Phoenix because it's the most unique in my opinion.
If you like it, go for it. Both of my kiddos have surnames for first names. I know a lot of berries think that it is trendy or bad, but I didn't let that stop me.

Considering I named my daughter Emerson and my son McIntire (due in 5 weeks)- I am happy to see this thread. I don't see a problem using surnames as first names at all!

I planned on waiting....and then found out, for both pregnancies. However, I knew I wanted to have 2 kids close in age, and don't have tons of money, so most of my baby stuff is still neutral in...
Our little guy is going to be named McIntire, nn Mac. The spelling McIntyre is more common. We are using the name because it is a family name, but I think anyone could use it if they like it.

Posting one more time. My husband and I have decided on McIntire as a first name for sure. We have also decided that Thomas will be the middle name. However, we were originally going to name our son...
I think Scout Birdie is cute! I am biased because my daughter's middle name is Scout and we sometimes call her Bird, even though it is not her given name.

Middles aren't referred to very often, so if you like it go for it! However, you could also come up with some sort of Twainish name that come from one of his characters like Sawyer or or Huck or...
