Thank you for the extra clarification. :)
That helped me to understand how to do the elimination of names.
Thanks! I really appreciate your reply. :)
I REALLY do appreciate everyone's...

Oh! NOW I get it! :D
Thank you so much! I am definitely going to try this!
(Only possible problem: I am not sure HE is going to be able to fill in 32 names of his own choosing!)

Thank you so much for replying, luneth.
I really needed to vent a little bit when I wrote my post, and it really means a lot to have people reply with encouragement. I really appreciate your...

Thank you for these great ideas! I need to try them out.
However, I am not quite sure how a "bracket-style elimination of names" works.
Could you please explain it to me?
Sorry to sound...

My husband and I are expecting a little girl! She will be our 3rd daughter. Our other daughters are much older (over a decade older), so the new baby will not be directly next to...

If you had ONLY one other child, named Violet, then I would agree with your partner that it could seem too matchy.
But since you have several children, I think it would be just fine to use Lilac...

I have to add my emphatic agreement that Salem brings only negative connotations to mind for me as well.
The two things that immediately pop into my mind are Witch Trials and cigarettes. (As a...
"I think our top contenders are Paloma and Primrose. Which do you all prefer? They are very different... We don't have a mn for Paloma yet. Primrose Amelia is the other combo.
Also, any other...
I just love the name Iris!
I know I am late getting into the conversation, but here are a few more ideas, some of which were inspired by the names in your signature line:
I agree! I love Evanna Juliet and Sabrina Rose.
With Hermione, how about trying a different middle rather than Sienna?
I like Hermione Celeste.

Persephone Vesper (means "evening star")

Persephone Lise (pronounced "LEEZ")
Ann Clarisa, definitely!
Ann Clarisa looks and sounds beautiful!
Clarisa makes Ann seem feminine and delicate. Its three syllables and delicate, crystalline sound definitely complements...
I know I'm kind of late chiming in here, but I have to say, I disagree that it is "too early to revive" Susan.
I totally agree with you that Susan is a very sweet name for a baby girl!
Normally, I would agree with the opinion of previous posters who said that too many y's clutter up a name. Often, that can be true.
BUT, in looking at your combos, I MUCH prefer the repeated y's!...
Carmen Aurora, definitely!
I love both the name Carmen, and the name Aurora - both the names themselves, and their meanings! I hadn't thought to put them together; but I think they're gorgeous...

YES!!! Ditto this!!
I totally agree with this poster. :)
To my ear, both Lahna and Lonna have the same pronunciation.
So in my opinion, either one should ensure that *most* people (in...

I would like to add my agreement with this. Using 'Lahna' clarifies the pronunciation to exactly what you want.
And, although I normally do not like invented or 'creative' spellings, I...

I agree with oiseau and maplemay. I think Theodore Simon is very handsome, and unless you specifically point out the Chipmunks, they do not come to mind for me.
However, reversing the order to...

Yes, your friend's name is Luz, which is pretty well known as a name. :)
As opposed to Lux, which I think is not going to sound like an actual name to most people in the general population.

How about Violet Lux?
If you really do like Lux, but if some of the concerns people have expressed are giving you pause, maybe combining Lux with Violet works better?
(Maybe Violet Lux has...

I really don't see any problem with the flow of Serena Violet. :)
Both Serena and Violet have smooth sounds, yet are different from each other, in a good way.
