I like your girl naming style. We chose Hadley for our DD. She is due friday, so I hope I don't have to wait much longer! Here are a few from my original list I don't think have been mentioned...
Jane! I love the nn Janie. June, even though 1 syllable, is harder for me to say, like I have to concentrate to hold the ooo sound long enough to make it sound right and not slurred. Maybe that's...
If you seem closest to agreeing on Addison, what about something like Adelie or Adalyn or Adaline? They have similarities to Amelie and Evelyn that you like as well. I know how big a struggle it...

It works given the initials for sure, and nicknames don't have to be bases soley on the first name. On the Martha thing though, that's my mom's name, while she never went by a nn other than Marty by...

I think it's really cute.

I voted Isabella, but if Anabella was a choice I think that would have been my pick. I like the A sound and the ella sound with Maeve.

all I think of is the ~ that goes over the N is some Spanish words. Nice nn, but needs more to be a full name I think

It's not a name I'd be brave enough to use myself, but I really like it. It's pretty and feminine and I love all it's NNs.

the poll confirms my feelings, Cecilia and Jane are the best options by far. Now, if I could just get DH to pick one!
Any one else have any comments? Thanks for the help!

I have thought a lot about Hadley's MN and just can't bring myself to pick a MN just because "it sounds pretty". I've decided it has to have family significance or I'll regret it later. Big Brother...

I agree that more options can add to the name regret. With my son we chose a family name from a short list, mostly because it was one of the few we could agree on, but I loved it and never looked...
Poll: Hadley needs a MN
We have settled on Hadley for our baby girl, but she still needs a middle name. I like family options, but they are rather generic - Ann or Jane. Mila would honor my DH's dad. I told my DH he...
I much prefer Annalie. To me it is is fresher and more spunky, less pretentious. I am just not a fan of belle names. I don't get the analy reference at all, and no one I mention it to in real life...

Personally I prefer Silas, but it is your opinion that matters! To me it sounds like you are trying to talk yourself out of your favorite and into liking something else just as much just because of a...

Nona makes sense to me, even though it adds an N, it seems like a logical nn

check out this website:
it will give you the family tree as to the origin of most names. It can be pretty interesting

To each their own, but I don't think the girls will like it when they get old enough to know better. Approaching it from that angle rather than telling her you don't like her name choices might be...

I am a Leslie, which is the more common US spelling for girls, though in the states the name is pretty much gone solely to the girls at this point. I've known girls with both spellings but mostly...

I like Celia with Jane, and I like the combo Celia Susannah. Susannah is substantial in the middle like Cordelia. You could still use the Zuzu nm too.

Exactly. This is one of my biggest concerns. My DH has a very common first name, and I have known more than one person with his exact first and last name, and we've both had coworkers with his same...

Wow what great comments. They do make me appreciate the name Anna a lot more. I'll have to see what husband thinks again. We have basically come down to 2 names - Anna or Hadley. I know, Hadley is...

I appreciate the suggestions to use a longer version of Anna, but we really prefer just Anna. I strongly considered Annalie, but DH finally vetoed it, and the others just not what I'm after. Thanks...

Anna has made our short list. Our last name is Johnson.
While I like Anna, together they just seem plain and very common to me. What do you think? What mn could help this out?
I love Anna...

I do too! But we're having a girl, so here are a few from boy's list that will have to wait.
