Thanks for the votes and replies, everyone. I'll take this as a go-ahead to start writing!

Thanks, Pam. I'll keep that in mind!

Names that have never been in the top thousand and fall in categories such as: unusual word names, historical and mythological figures and places, scientific names of things, nature, fantasy, obscure...
Saw a 7 or 8 year old Unity the other day. Her sister had a much more ordinary name, but I can't remember what it was. Something along the lines of Marissa.

Crow (Crow's nest)
My cousin had her first baby just after midnight on Easter morning. He's named Louis Albert, after his dad. Mom and baby are doing well :-)
Googling the name showed some interesting namesakes,...
I can't access "All User Lists" beginning with the letters B, F, and G. This isn't the first time I've noticed this problem. The following URLs result in an error page:
For me, Alexandria has a little bit too much flair, but that's consistent with my general dislike of frilly names (I'd take Isabel over Isabella, Sophie over Sophia any day). Alexei is my favorite...
I just finished Spirit Walker, book two of the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness by Michelle Paver and now I'm about to start the Valley of Horses by Jean M Auel. I'm also reading Brandon Mull's...

There are a lot of good names above. A few less mainstream suggestions:
Of the names you listed, I like:
Ella - very graceful, feels like there's more to it than just four letters.
Lily - a sweet sound. I have a rat named Liliana and I call her Lily and Lilo for...
Jude Wilder, for sound, appearance, and wicked cool associations (Laura Ingalls. D&D. Tales of Symphonia.) But then, I'm not very fond of the name Zephyr, so there's that bias.
Darter, Shrike, and Nighthawk are very cool.
@maddyelizabeth I like a lot of those names but most of them aren't birds.
@sweekune Kestrel and Hawk are both good. Do you think they work well together?
Right now the pairs I'm considering...
My main character has recently acquired two horses. Since her brothers spend most of their time as swans, she is going to name the horses after kinds of birds. I have a list of bird names I like...
Congrats, great name, and great sib set! I especially love Boaz and Adelaide. I'm hoping for a big family myself. :)
