I love double names but it seems like at least one of the names have to be fairly common for the name to work. Also, shorter names seem to work well.

Ramona Irene & Frances Holiday are my favorites.
Shane Guthrie - I don't like Shane very much but Guthrie is cool. I would love to see Guthrie in the fn spot.
Otis Truman - I like this combo a lot.
Erik Luther - The combo is fine. I like...
I would say trendy over classic but not in bad way. It doesn't rhyme with a bunch of other names.
I actually like Carter a lot. I have never met anyone with this name. Carter Jacob is my favorite...
That has happened to me before. Usually as i'm falling asleep, I'll think of a name but can't remember it in the morning. I hope you think of it. :)
Any of these?
I also pronounce it the way you do. I wouldn't change the spelling.
Dashiell Vance is an awesome combo.
I think Lola, Daisy, and Rufus are dog names.
One of my favorite names is Harley because it's a family name, but I always see comments about it being a dog name. That doesn't affect my feelings...

Gideon - Deon, Eon
Harvey - Harv, Vee
Malcolm - Mally, Mac, Colm
Orion - Ri, Rion
Orson - Ori, Sonny, Bear (since it means "bear cub")
Soren - Ren, Renny, Ory/Ori
Some other nns for these:

I prefer Lane for a boy because "y" is often used to make a name more feminine for some reason. Lane also looks sleeker. The "y" seems unnecessary.
I would pronounce Lane and Layne the same, not...
I voted for Junia Evangeline & Magnolia Alice.
I also like Liliana and Viviana.
My favorite combos are...
Liliana Ocean - I love Ocean!
I love the name Frederick and Frederic Lennox Blue is amazing. I think you should definitely keep Blue in there.
I have to admit that I don't like Frederic Indigo as much.

I voted for Margot but I prefer the Margo spelling. It sounds the best with Lane.
I also like Ruby and Camille.

Phoebe Luella is really sweet. I like it. Luella Phoebe would be very pretty as well.
I also love Hazel Fiona & Louisa Eve.
Elaine Rosamund is by far my favorite! I love Elaine and wish it was used more (but not a lot more :p)
Rosamund is nice as a fn too. My favorite Rosamund(fn) combo is Rosamund Carys.
Osiris - it's ok
Mercury - I think most people will just think of the planet.
Fox - It seems like everyone is using this as a middle name but I really like it. Also, it reminds me of Fox Mulder...
I love double names.
My favorite is Ruby-Glenn, but Glenn is a family name for me.
Hana-Kate (hah-nuh, not Hannah)
I think it's fine to use on a girl. It's a word/occupational name and it's gender neutral. It reminds me of Princess Merida in the Disney movie Brave. :)
For Drew, I would probably use Andrea or Drusilla and make Drew the nickname. If that's not an option, Rew/Roo is a cute nn for Drew.
For Annalise, I like Annie, Alise, & Lisey as nicknames.

I see Merritt as gender neutral. It has never been popular for either gender.

I definitely think Smith can be used as a middle name. I like Oliver Smith and Edmund Smith. I'll also suggest Julian Smith, August Smith, and Garrett Smith.
I can see it as a nickname used by close family members but I don't like it as a formal name. I've seen it as a nn for Hawthorne but I'm sure it could work for any name.
I never thought of the...

I always let my daughter name her own dolls. Sometimes she comes up with real names, like Miranda and Eleanor, and sometime she just puts sounds together to come up with a name, like Sasah or Arci....

I love both Mabel and Florence.
