I would pronounce Lila as "Lie-luh", Lilla as "Lihl- luh," Layla as "Lay-luh," and Leela as "Lee- luh." (I've known people with each of these names and that's how they've pronounced them. I'm in the...

Thanks everyone! I think we've pretty much settled on Virginia nn Ginny- it just feels so "right" for this baby! I've been saying it to myself for the past few days and it feels perfect <3 Thanks for...
I love Rosamunde Pilcher's books- they're great for curling up on the couch with a cup of tea and a quilt- and there was a Loveday in her novel "Coming Home." It was set in England around World War...
June! I love that name!
I'm so sorry for your loss. I think using the name Ruby is a wonderful way to honor someone so special to you.
I agree that "Ever" and "Ruby" might get slurred together- what about Eva Ruby, Ella...

I posted a while back about looking for a name for Gabriel and Rachel's little sister :) My husband and I have always liked the nickname Ginny, so we were considering maybe Virginia or...

I don't think the popularity ranking will change very much with the Netflix series coming out- I definitely don't think it will break the top 100. The new series will only be 4 episodes and I think...

I think they're both gorgeous choices, but I voted for Catherine Ophelia. It was so hard to choose!
I do really like that pattern! name meanings are important to me, and I like that the names all have the -el sound in common. Originally I wasn't sure because of the Little Mermaid connection, but...

Congratulations on the twins!!
Others will probably have better suggestions than I do, but I thought of:
Victoria and Florence
Elisa and Marin
Colette and Adrienne
I was trying to think of...

I think Vivian Louise is adorable!
My husband and I are so excited that we're expecting another little girl. Now we just need to name her... :)
Our angel son is named Gabriel Benjamin and our daughter is Rachel Naomi. I love...

I agree Vada would work better than Veda- Vada Evelyn really sticks out to me. I like the subtle repeated 'v.' Cute!
We welcomed our daughter Rachel Naomi on January 14! I haven't been as active on Nameberry lately but I did post several months ago asking for advice on her middle name. We chose Naomi because we...

What about Nella? I think it would still have that simplicity you love (I do, too!) and Nella Twiss flows a little better than Nell Twiss. I think Eleanor could work too.
Lucy short for Lucia or...

Thanks so much for all the suggestions!! I keep coming back to judyariel's suggestion of Rachel Evelyn- when I read that Evelyn meant "wished-for child" I just melted. We'll probably keep thinking on...
Also, if you love Emily, go for it! I don't think anyone would revoke your name nerd...
I would also pronounce it "Ree- ANN-nen."
I think I'd pick "unusual and interesting"- I think this name has a lot of personality! Rhia and Rhi are cute nicknames.
I would pronounce both as "eh-VAN-nuh" and "eh-VAN-gel-ine."
Maybe the difference in pronunciation is regional? I'm from the mid-atlantic U.S., if that helps :)

We're excitedly expecting a little girl that needs a middle name! My husband and I chose Rachel for our daughter's first name but can't come up with a middle name that we both love. So...
I think Cora is beautiful! I've never met an older Cora, only a couple in the toddler set (and of course there's Lady Cora on Downton Abbey). Go for it! It's lovely.

We've been calling ours "Flipper" since the first ultrasound, since s/he was moving around a LOT. Was moving even more at the second ultrasound. I still can't feel the baby kick, but if ultrasounds...
I like momof374's suggestion of pairing it with a feminine middle name- that's exactly what sprang to mind when I read Sloane. Or Sloane could be a middle name to balance a long, feminine first...

Good ideas- thank you! I really like Virginia Claire as a combo, and now I've got Josephine and Eliza turning over in my head too... they sound like sweet girls names, but very classic too.
