Poll: Middle name + Poll
Which middle name do you like with Callaway (nn Calla or Callie)? Also... Calloway or Callaway? I think I like the "a" for a girl. Thoughts?
ETA: What do you think of Calla all by itself? Would...
Oooh! I like Callaway with Avalon! I hadn't thought to put those two together!
Thank you! That's why Rory is at the bottom of the list. I want it to work, but it really doesn't. I agree about Scout. My husband likes it because it's the name of a plane (and so is Piper - our...
Just out of curiosity, are you from the states?
Sometimes I wonder what percentage of the Berry Forum is outside of the US, because tastes and name associations seem to be so different here.

What are your favorite names that are unusual, but still familiar?
I'm thinking word names would probably fit best in this kind of category? Any other general name-types you think would fit?

Thank you so much! I love Avalon too :) Lennox has been the front-runner for years, but Callaway/Callie is coming in at a close second.
Aurora is really, really hard to say with our last name, but...
DH and I have VERY different taste in names. For a girl, I would choose Violet and he would choose Bailey. The best compromise for us is surname-type names and unisex-but-not-too-common names on...

Beckett Brian (nn Beck)
Cormac Brian (nn Mac)
Oakley Brian (nn Oak)
Crew Milo (nn Crewie when he's little) - we don't care for Cruz
These are the only husband-approved names on my list. Other...

My husband says the name is too "hippy" to actually use. I don't see this connection at all, but I'll admit - Milo did have to grow on me for a couple of years before I decided I loved it.
I think the s like in Simon is fine. The ch is hard to say though.
I would eliminate the s if it were, for instance, Sullivan shutter, where the first vowels were similar. That makes it harder to...

What are your favorite boy names ending in -o?
Whether it's a long form and the nickname ends in -o or the whole name ends in -o.
Would you use a nickname for them?
I really like Kipling, but it presents the problem of being awfully close to Pip. Caledon and Sullivan are cool too. Lando intrigues me. It seems like my style - I always thought of it as a nickname...
Thank you! DH likes Griffin, and it used to be on the list. I really need to look at it again. I do like the option of Fin that goes with it. :) Oh, and I also kind of like Harvey, but it's very...
I agree here on all points!
I didn't read all of the responses, but honestly... I've never, ever seen a boy being teased for his name, and if they are, then they are laughing too. It's the girls that are typically more likely...
I love the names on my list, but all of them are either nixed by DH or just aren't perfect in other ways. I have two kids: Boston and Piper. Here are the boy names I like and why they're not THE...

Personally, I think Theodore could go with Kellen if you called him Theo. Theo and Kellen sound like great brother names. :)
My husband and I have had the name Lennox picked out for awhile for if we ever have another girl. The middle name options would be Annabel (I only like this spelling - to me this is a very different...
I think, if it's a family name, that Evans is great on a girl. Most here will disagree, but I think if you asked outside of the nameberry circle, then you would get very different responses.

Yeah, my style is quite a bit different than most berries, but it doesn't bother me. :) It doesn't make me any less of a name-nerd just because I prefer Rory and Lennox on girls.
If it makes...
Scarlett would be my choice, but that's very influenced by my personal taste. They all go really well with Annabel. :)

I must be so surrounded by both (name-nerds and plane-nerds) that I got it mixed up! It's nice to know that most probably would not catch on though! Thank you!

LOL! Well, that's good to hear. :) They're both names of airplanes.
