I use their full names (first, middle, last) when I mean business. The tone I use has a lot to do with it, too.
Ruby is such a sweet, yet fiesty name.

For boys, I would say you like "old world" classics. For girls, you seem to prefer ancient Greek and Roman names.

Personally, I prefer the simple Violet. I think because it's also a common word, it's best to keep the same spelling.
I've only ever heard of apostrophes (O'Brien) and hyphens (Mary-Jane) in names. Other punctuation seems interesting, if a bit over-the-top.

My name is Leah Kaye. I always wished that my middle name were more substantial because Leah is such a short and sweet name, though it does have a good flow.
