1) When did you start loving/liking names? What age? It was late elementary school, so probably 9 or 10?
2) Why/How did you start loving/liking names? My three best friends and I were...
Does anyone know anything about this name? It may be a variant spelling. It's the name of our neighbor, an older lady from Norway, and SO and I both really like it but I cannot find any information...

Epiphany (brother Tristan)
Mahogany & Essence (sisters)
Amythest (yes, spelled this way)
Cuilynne (pron. QUEE-lin)
It's totally usable, IMO. I went to school with a Susan and no one batted an eyelash.
What are your thoughts... do you like it? Is it the kind of "plain-Jane" name that would leave you saying 'meh'? Would you feel like 'oh no, not ANOTHER Lily'? (It's #73, which is much lower than...

Pretty much this, but I could see it being pronounced either way. I also tend to emphasize the -nor rather than the first or second syllable, but that's probably just me.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all the responses :)
@sllah - I really like your suggestions of Lydia, Vera, Rosalie, and Daisy. He likes Beatrice as much as Beatrix, but doesn't like Tris...

So I finally had the name conversation with M, and while he has some strong opinions I was actually pretty surprised at his name taste! Not totally my style (for girls, boys' names we agreed on...
I'm so pleasantly surprised by the lack of "Eww, how could you do that to your child?" responses! Lol it's definitely not ideal, or a name I'd choose on my own by any stretch of the imagination but...
Yeah, I know... hear me out. My SO's grandfather was named Lester, called Les. He passed away 3 years ago but he is/was one of the most important people in M's life and he really wants to honor...
Lydia - too close to Leona for sisters? If so, which would you choose?
Adelaide - favorite nickname other than Addie or Lady?
Winnie - what is your favorite full name for Winnie, and/or...
North or South? ;)
In all seriousness, I'm not a fan of Dakota on either gender, but I'd likely assume Dakota was a boy before meeting them. Glancing through your signature it doesn't seem to...
My bf's dachshund is named Wednesday, and now that I'm used to calling her I'm a little sad that it eliminates the name for a person for us! Once you get used to saying it out loud it's actually a...

I've heard people talk about the replacement ratio and only having one or two children to replace themselves, and I honestly think it's a little silly. I just don't think it's a good reason to limit...

It's actually Hodgins ;)
But on another note, I like:
Asher, August, Tobias, Silas, Lincoln, Jack
Alice, Eugenia, Stella, Evelynn (prefer Evelyn), Lydia
Pretty much everything with an...

My godfather was married to a woman named Neva but I rarely saw them. So I'm familiar with it.
I think it will be commonly misheard as Eva, and it's a common misspelling of "never" at least on...
I met a January IRL! She was a sweet lady. She went by her full name too, not Jan.
October and November have always been favorites of mine for offbeat month names... October NN Toby (for a...

Sophie. God I love the name Sophie. It has a great meaning, it has literary/historical cred, and no other name sounds quite like it. But it's devastatingly popular.
Stella was also really...
Some kids figured out that my best friend's name (Amanda) was "A man, duh" and teased her until she cried. My SO's last name sounds like the word "belts" and apparently one day some kids were asking...
Hymen. Also I knew a boy with some severe behavioral issues named Hiram in elementary school.
Accidentally snorted water out of my nose. Well done, you. :)

Rose x Ten forever, yo! ;)
Is it terrible that I've considered giving a daughter the double middle "Decima Rose" because I ship them so hard?? I also really loved Donna as a friend-of-the-Doctor...

To everyone who asked about Bones - I sort of agree with you?? I mean, I was always a Booth/Brennan shipper so I was just thrilled they finally did get together. I do think it was sort of a cop-out...

They're not new shows, but I'm excited for the new seasons of Bones, Grey's Anatomy, and Parenthood! I don't have cable so I watch everything online, so most of the new-new shows are lost on me. I...
I love Calla Firefly, but Birch Fox is a bit wordy for me. I think Calla Firefly works because is a name on it's own in addition to the flower, but Birch Fox sounds like a description. Also Birch...
