I have a friend who just had a baby named Darla and it is so so cute on her! She has received a really great response from people too. Everyone I've talked to loves it!

Marin could be an option. It has the "Mari" beginning.
It's also the same length as Maria and is Marina without the "a". It strikes a nice balance of honoring both.
It also means "of the sea."...

I love the song "Georgia on my mind." I have considered this as a first name because of it. I could imagine expecting and humming it to myself. :)
I voted for Aurora Maeve. I really love it. The 3-1 syllables go well together, and the slightly clunkier (in a good way) Maeve balances the soft sound of Aurora really well.
LOVE Clive Fox! Calla Firefly is definitely unusual but lovely. I had an unusual middle name growing up and really enjoyed it. It felt like a hidden gem that I was able to reveal when I wanted to.
