I quite like this for a middle or a first name. Even really like the bear association. I think it's pretty great.
Incidentally, there are dozens of cities and towns in the U.S. called Springfield, so it is far from fictional.
By the way, my 9-year-old son Springer loves his name and doesn't have any problem with the nickname Spring...and neither do his friends, who often call him that all on their own, as it's a natural...
Interestingly, I have a son named Field and a son named Springer (sometimes nicknamed Spring). So I think Springfield would work, with the option of shortening to either name.

My son is named Field, so I love it, of course! Best name ever! (He's 16 years old now.)

I really like Julian. However, I love Field, as that is my son's name (not Fielding...not a fan of that variation or of Leland).

Julia and Silas, FOR SURE.
I don't care for that one, but I love Jadzia ("Star Trek" reference). What do you think of that?

I like Saroian the best! Very cool! Kaia is just so-so, and really dislike Romina.

My mother's name is Josephina, and she's always gone by Fietje (Fee-cha). She's Dutch, and that's the nickname they use for this name in Holland. Her sisters would also call her Fie.
