Cousin's baby #1 !
I'm new here so I hope this is the right place to post this!
My cousin is searching for a name for baby number one and it turns out to be quite difficult with her husband.
They don't know the gender yet, so they are searching for girl and boy names. She really liked Emerson for a boy, but her husband vetoed (I think he associated Emerson with a girl). They are looking into Eamon, Edmund, Edward, Emory and Elias now. The thing is the two of them just can't find the right combination: any suggestions for similar names and/or middle names?
Girl names are even harder: a girls mn would be Alexa (my cousins sister), but they are still debating about first names. She really wants a name that is uncommon but not made up; plus her DH prefers long names that can be easily shortened to a cute nn. Any ideas?
Your help's very much appreciated!
I can totally relate to your cousin! My hubby is not helping the naming process either.
For boys, it seems they like E names, some others starting with E are
Some other names to consider:
For long but uncommon girls names:
Persephone (Percy, Penny)
Amaryllis (Amy, Mary, Lissa)
Josephine (Jo, Joey, Josie)
Magnolia (Maggie, Nola)
Wilhelmina (Minnie, Willa/Willie)
For boys I will suggest:
Filomena (Mena, Lumi, Filo)
Cordelia (Della, Lia, Ellie)
Cosette (Etta, Cosy, Ossy)
Delilah (Lilah, Della, Lily)
Valentina (Tina, Tia, Vale)
Vivienne (Vivi, Viva, Enna)
Lucinda (Lucy, Cindy, Lu)
Isabella (Bella, Issy, Abby)
Thanks for your replies!
Personally, I just love Persephone Alexa but my cousin and her DH don't really want to go with it.
They really do like Calliope though, so that's definitely an option! For a boy they like Evander, Evian and Ellis best.
