help very much needed
So I've mentioned here before that my sister is pregnant. She has two kids already, both named classic, vintage names. One is in the top 15, the other is in the 500-600 range.
Her current baby is a girl and I've suggested every name i can possibly think of, literally every name from every list/blog post on here i can think of that fits into the same category as her other kids.
Things she's vetoed include: Aurora, Adelaide, Susannah, Beatrice/Beatrix, Penelope, Alice, Rose, Nora(h), Margaret, Frances, etc etc etc.
She doesn't want a super popular name (she doesn't like that one of her kids' names is so popular, but they adored the name and it felt right)
Her main problem is that she feels there's a name out there she "just hasn't heard yet" and that when she hears it she'll know.
Can you guys help out? Most of you have a lot more name knowledge than i do. Is there anything vintage that you really don't hear anymore?
She prefers feminine names, but dislikes anything clunky (like Matilda or Agnes)
Helpful if we could know the other children's names? I'll get back to you when I'm on my computer!
I'm almost certainly repeating these, but some I'm thinking:
Best of luck!
Well, I'm sure I'm going to end up repeating many of what sarahmezz contributed, but here are my additions for classic/vintage feminine non-clunky girls' names (also including some names that have a classic sound, even if they're not really all that classic, plus a few international variations on classics):
Some quirky vintage ones I haven't seen mentioned yet, some lesser-heard virtue names, and some international forms of Biblical names. Nothing modern or kreative.
