@charlierandperry1 - Thank you - I feel the same way; after all, who uses their second middle enough that anyone would notice anyway?! The same goes for the hiver thing, I'm making a mountain out of molehill, I think! And Alastair is so charming - dashing is exactly the right word to use! If I ever have five boys, I'll try and work Alastair in there too... Thank you :)
@casilda - I completely see what you mean and I agree - it's much more noticeable with one middle name, isn't it? And obviously first names would be a no-go for me as well. Thank you!
@mischa - I think it would be a sweet connection too (although not all of them would have it...!) and thank you for easing my mind about the whole hiver thing. It wouldn't be much of an issue anyway, just a bit strange if we ever actually decide to move to France. Baudelaire and Fairfax are awesome - I had Baudelaire as a middle in a combination for my girl's names I think once, but I love it more for a boy, and Fairfax... Is just plain cool. Thank you!
@vc2013 - Oh, I see what you mean, it must be harder when they are beginning with the same syllable! What Sol- names are you tossing up between? Thank you :)
@ashleyjuliette - I know, I recently discovered it and it's not to everyone's taste, but I love it! Ivan/Ivo are names I like but they are just lacking in something for me. Possibly this -air ending that I am currently fixated on... Thank you!
@giinkies - Isn't that cool? I have loved Altair for the longest time - that combination has been on my list since the beginning, I'm pretty sure, so I don't want to give it up any time soon! Thank you for Altair love :)
@dantea - Woo, another sufferer (not that I'm rejoicing in your suffering!) - aren't they hard? They're all so gorgeous! Alair/Alaire has such a lovely meaning, and Baird, Clotaire and Voltaire (*gasp*) are incredible. Congratulations on your Voltaire FIRST-NAME agreement - I am very jealous. It has such a springy, bouncy feeling - such a happy name! Thank you :)
@peanuts - I think it's cool as well! In fact, I'm so excited, I think it might be time to put it into the signature... Thank you for commenting, let's share the Ivair love! (ooh, that rhymes almost)
I wouldn't say that Altair and Ivair are too similar. Especially as middles. I really like the link to 'hiver', and I think that Ivair sounds handsome and possibly a bit mysterious! For other 'air' suggestions, how about:
Aaron (pronnounced Air-en)
Aeris (pronnounced Air-is)
I think they are fine as second-middles! Use all the Air-ies you like! (Although I have to say, I have the most massive crush on Ivo! It almost breaks my heart to see a variation favored, but Antony Edmund Ivair is pretty wonderful!)
@babtr1ll - Ivair is mysterious sounding, isn't it? I love that. Aeris is intriguing (I've always secretly adored the idea of a little boy Izzy, but it's firmly guilty pleasure name territory) - thank you! (and hello from England to UK) :)
@saracita00 - Sorry, I posted and forgot to reload before - I must remember to do that... Isn't Ivo just the sweetest thing? The only problem is is that a close family member is called Ivo, and I wouldn't want to insult anyone else etc. But Antony Edmund Ivair is pretty amazing, I have to admit, I completely love it! Speaking of amazing combinations though, Ragnar Ethan Wade... Can I just steal it please? What an awesome combination with Ethan (and Ragnar. My heart has stopped.) Thank you for commenting, and good luck with baby on the way!
@ciottolo - Ivair is a wonderful name, and I quite liked Aeris myself actually! I've come across a man named Isadore (Issy), which I must say, was a bit shocking, but it's actually quite cute... :)
@babtr1ll - Thank you so much! Isadore is so cool, but I'm not sure I could imagine a man called Issy. I'll have to meet one first! Ooh, are you having twins?! That's so exciting, and Arthur is such a classic favourite of mine. Florian in the middle is so unexpected and wonderful. Do you have any ideas for the other twin? Are they both boys? Sorry, twins excite me a little as you can probably tell... (I'm expecting Aeris Ivair _____ Wright now) ;)
I know a man whose middle name is Isidore. He's Hyperian Isidore and most of his friends call him Izzy. He's a strong guy. He's athletic but he likes sailing and fishing too. He's never had a problem with it (I've also known a man who went by Jackie and he's never had issues either).
@ciottolo - Haha! Not sure about the two A names, but it is one to keep in mind! As for the twins - yes I am! I'm very excited too, and yes, they're both boys! Thankyou for your compliments, the first boy's name is set, but we haven't decided on the second yet - possibly Frederick or Jude...
@dantea - That's so interesting, I've never met one! Or a Hyperian, for that matter (it's such a rugged name, very cool). People where I live really need to be more adventurous... Jackie is a bit more like Jack so I could probably handle that, but I'm on the lookout for Izzy/Issies now! Thank you.
@babtr1ll - I just went over and commented on your thread, so am up to date on all possibilities for your twins now (both boys! You must be excited but nervous!), although I already knew your taste was impeccable as you like Ivair, so I wasn't surprised at how lovely they all are ;)
