Strong & Sophisticated
I am revising my list for the billionth time this year. I feel like I struggle more with girls names. I want something that is strong and sophisticated, but also something that suits every age from newborn to grandmother. I also think that having a positive meaning is important.
Do you have any suggestions of what could fall into that category?
Here is what I have come up with:
Lilith- I know the meaning of this isn't as lovely...but I more associate it with Lilith Fair music festival which, in my opinion, is a representation of strength...
I appreciate any opinions and am completely open to new suggestions!
The first one that comes to mind is Elizabeth. Obviously, I also think Evelyn and Francine. :) for my little one who is strong, free and bright. :)
Here are a few others that you might like
You have Arden on your list, that is on my list, as well as Carden.(garden connection) I like that. Other ideas:
You have Wren listed, but you could use Florence and Laurence as a fn to get Wren.
Juniper-nn June, Juni
Alexandria-nn Zandie, Zandria, Allie, Andie, etc
Elizabeth-nn Libby, Libba*(love this)-or Betsie, Ella, etc
Hyacinth -nn hattie, anni
Gwenyth-as opposed to gwyneth- Gwenyth sounds better to me
I really like Elizabeth, Kate, Reese, and Reina. I can see Elizabeth and Reina on babies and grandmothers. Kate, I think of more as a teen and young adult with Katie used more on a baby and Katherine used more as she's older. Reese, I can only imagine on a baby and young adult. All four names are very pretty though. Others strong classic names you might consider:
Fabulous suggestions! I am really loving Miranda, Amelia, Morgan, Iris and Julianna!
Keep them coming :)
My name is Blair, I'm in my 30s (and no, I wasn't named after the "Facts of Life" : )) and I get compliments on it all of the time. I like Greer, Gwen (though I prefer it as a nn for Gwyneth), Kate and Mae from your list.
