This or that
Libby- Normally I'd go for a full name rather than a nn, but Elisabetta is a bit too over-the-top. Elizabeth would be much better.
Carlotta- Love Carlotta! Pretty and underused. I'm not a fan of Francesca, though.
Roxanne- This was a toughie. Both names are very beautiful, but Roxanne won because it's more familiar than Oriana and has the adorable nn Roxy.
Celeste- Celine brings to mind Celine Dion and Selena Gomez, but Celeste is a name that's easier for a girl to make her own.
Angeline- To me, Angelique sounds like it could be trashy if someone weren't actually from France. Angeline sounds more classy, IMO.
Rosalind- I don't get the appeal of Joely. Is it pronounced like Jolie? If so, then it just looks like a kree8tiv spelling to me. Rosalind is gorgeous, though.
Lola- Dolores sounds stuffy and old, and not the chic kind of old. Lola is fun, sassy and fun to say!
Etta- I truly dislike Harriet. Etta is cute, spunky and vintage. Harriet's just vintage.
Laura- Something about Laura sounds younger and fresher than Lauren, but just as classy. I like both, though.
Gwendolen- Oh, I have known the worst Morgans! And I've known, like, 10 of them. Gwendolen's much prettier, in my opinion.
Jetta- Something about Jethra makes me think of a creepy man wearing a cowboy hat and 3 wives. That being said, Jetta is cooler.
Aurora- Oooh, this one was hard! The mellifluous sound of Aurora ended up putting it ahead of Zora, though that's lovely as well.
Shea- The pronunciation of Shea might trip some people up (SHAY, not SHEE-ah) but Tia means aunt in some languages, which could feel strange to some.
Faye- I think Parisa is pretty, but Paris Hilton forever destroyed all names with Paris in them for me. Faye is pretty and simple, but still makes a statement.
Isabella- Bethan looks unfinished to me. I would much prefer Bethany. Isabella is popular, but still gorgeous.
Anna- Carissa reminds me of the word caress, which could get creepy when other people say it. But maybe that's just me being picky. Anyway, Anna is a gorgeous classic.
Livia- Livia seems unfinished, though I do prefer it to Olivia. Kayla is like THE trendy name, in my opinion. When I hear the word trendy, my mind goes to Kayla, Kaylee, and Mackenzie.
Agnes- Agnes feels much fresher than Cathleen. GORGEOUS name!
Colleen- I would feel terrible for any little girl named Cinderella. The name was given to the fairy tale character as a taunt by her stepsisters. I'm not a fan of Colleen, either.
Juliet- Both are beautiful, but the Shakespeare character put Juliet ahead of Julianne for me.
I put my favorites in bold.
