@gracianern, are you feeling better today? Feeling tired and sick while pregnant with one baby and only a cat to look after is hard enough, I can hardly imagine what it must be like being pregnant with twins plus a grumpy five year old.
The girls name is pronounced ÁA-ee-sha, it's been our favourite for years, but I know my SIL loves it too and she's due first so I'm hoping for a little nephew :)
We had our first ultrasound yesterday...ONE little baby in there, wiggling his or her little arms and legs around! I don't remember seeing that at the first ultrasound we had of my daughter. Very cool! Little heart was chugging away at 157 bpm. Measured a couple days ahead of the due date according to LMP, but we will stick with March 5 unless the doctor tells us otherwise. My daughter came a few days late, so I don't want to get my hopes up about an earlier due date!!! Hope all is well with the rest of you!
Also, my doctor said Tylenol is fine up to 4000 mg a day. So 2 extra strength every 6 hours. I am still battling almost daily headaches and have been eating it like candy. It's ok as long as you don't exceed that amount!
Aïcha - is really beautiful, both in sound and appearance! For your sake, I hope you also have a nephew. :)
I'm lucky, the older we get, the less names my siblings and I have in common. :) We like each other's choices, but wouldn't use them ourselves. And my in-laws - well, my nieces and nephews have their own children, so that's the hard part there. But no repeats or steals yet.
I am feeling a little better today. I seem to have invited a Cough to join in, so that part is unpleasant, but I am able to eat and drink without much difficulty. My son was so fabulous last night. He laid with me in the bed and let me sleep over 90 minutes without starving to death. ;)
but I'm not even 85% yet, and am fading as the afternoon wears on. If I could take some sort of sinus medication, I would feel so much better.
@grecianern hope your feeling better soon.
Also welcome to all the new mummies to be :)
I'm 8 weeks plus 4 now and have had sickness for last few weeks now throughout the day, some days are better than others. I've went off chicken completely and have been living on a diet of salt n vinegar crisps, cheese toastie and pasta, hoping to feel better soon. Have my first midwife appointment tomorrow afternoon, but as UK doubt ill hear heart beat or anything till my 12 week stan at start of September.
Also 2 other girls in my team at work are pregnent too, so haven't told my boss yet as think he'll have kittens as there's only 6 of us in the team. So waiting till "bubble" has its picture taken before telling work :)
good luck with work. I was actively trying for 3 years for our first child. And magically 3 of us at work got pregnant together. We had 3 boys 7 days apart. It was fun and crazy and thunder-stealing all at the same time.
Now I work in a place with 45+ men to 3 women. one is older, and the other is also trying to get pregnant. So, right now, I'm the only one pregnant here. And I told the bosses after my 10 week scan. Just to be sure.
So, I'm actually feeling worse. I finally gave in and called the OB to find out what I could take for medications. So, I left work and picked up some Tylenol Cold & Sinus... here's hoping it works. *fingers crossed*
Hi ladies, sorry I am finding it hard to keep up with all these threads! I had an early scan today, turns out I am only 8 weeks (I did suspect I wasn't as pregnant as my LMP would make me) but baby was healthy and saw the little heartbeat :) Feels a lot more real now! So my new due date is 21st of March. Mila was born at 37 weeks so who knows when this little one will make an appearance.
I am also incredibly bloated, it has been carb overload the last few days so I am REALLY going to try and eat better starting tomorrow. It really doesn't make me feel good when my belly is all puffed up! I've also got a cold, thanks to changing from a tropical climate to a windy, rainy winter :/ Lemons and honey on the shopping list! Grecianern, I hope you feel better soon too. As if pregnancy on its own wasn't enough!
Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling under the weather. I caught a terrible bug the beginning of July and it took me out for the entire month. Not a fun time. I *still* have a bit of a lingering cough. Get plenty of rest and feel better soon!
All of our January and a few February mamas have made it to 2nd trimester by now! How are things looking on that side?
Wow! I have so much to catch up on in this thread!!
I haven't been on NB in a while-- terrible " morning" sickness ( if you can call it that since its pretty much constant), pregnancy exhaustion and a 5 year old will do that to you, I guess. Finally made it I the second trimester (I am 15 weeks and 3 days now) and I was hoping for some relief. But it looks like I am one of the unlucky few whose first trimester symptoms stick around :/
On a fun note we FINALLY told family this week--I am not showing yet so no one even suspected. But it was so nice seeing everyone's reactions! I'm telling my mom tonight-- I got her a grandma picture frame with two openings... One with my sons picture and one with our 13 week ultrasound. Can't wait to see her reaction :)
We find out the gender on September 2nd. At our NT scan the tech guessed boy, but I am not so sure . Any one else find out that early and have it be correct? Although I guess there is always a 50/50 chance isn't there? Anywho, I am off to read up on everything I missed! Wishing all you wonderful ladies health and happiness!!!
I'm so glad I found this thread!
I'm due January 4th with a little boy. I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow. I've had a fairly easy pregnancy so far and I'm very grateful for it. I hope the rest of you ladies are doing well. Congratulations to everyone!
Congrats to all the new moms that have joined :) I've been terrible at keeping up with the thread. I can't really say that morning sickness has been killing me, but I've had a mild nausea that never goes away and keeps me afraid of losing my meals at all times. It's starting to let up though, and so is the exhaustion, so hopefully I'll be around here more! I should be 11 weeks today. I can't wait to get all of my energy back so that I can actually keep up with my toddler again! I've felt so bad for her lately, as I've been a big lump and it's been raining quite a bit, so she's been trapped inside for the better part of two weeks.
It's funny, with Ivy, we had her first name picked out within a couple of weeks of finding out that I was pregnant, but never could come to an agreement on any boy names. This time around, we've been fairly settled on a boy name since 6 or 7 weeks, but have no clue on girl names. We agree on several, but nothing is really jumping out to both of us. Maybe that means it's a boy? ;)
