Short and strong?
I really prefer short, strong names. We'd be willing to use a three-syllable name as long as it doesn't veer into frilly territory. I also like simplicity. No Seraphinas here, though it is a pretty name for someone else! Not interested in names like Jane, Kate/Kat, Liz, etc. We don't know the gender yet, but if the baby's a boy, we're set on Leo.
So far we've thought about:
Wynne (Family name!)
I love Liv and Mara from your list :)
What about Isla, Sage, Lux, Thea, Lara
The first thing that came to mind was Maeve.
Love your list! Here are some ideas:
Toby (yes, for a girl!)
Mab (it really is a name, and a literary one at that!)
What do you think about Grier, Skye, Niamh/Neve, Orla or Shira? (what a wonderful mix of naming traditions I've just made;))
I have my own short list going, although mine is short n sweet, so not sure if they all fit the strong bill. I'll share anyway: (sorry for any repeats)
Love Helena, Mara and Liv from your list. I prefer Amara to Mara though as it translates in so many languages with a beautiful meaning.... Don't like Mara's meaning much!
I love suggestions of
My favorites from your list are Lark and Vera. Vera sounds much stronger than Lark to me, but I love both. Ruth always seems like a very strong name to me. You have Helena on there, but Helen seems stronger. Joan seems very strong as well. I think someone mentioned Maeve above, that is a great name.
