My favorite Russian boy's name is Konstantin, nickname Kostya. I also like Lev, Ivan, Sergei. Mikhail might be a lot, but Misha, the nickname, isn't too off-the-radar for Americans. Pavel is cool, and nickname Pasha is cute.
For girls, Antonina is pretty. Yevgenia, nickname Zhenya is nice. Arina is nice. Daria. Alena. Yulya. Polina. I love Irina. Lera. Liza. Zlata. Svetlana or Sveta. You could take a name like Veronika and and just give her the nickname Nika as a name.
No one seems to have mentioned Natasha. Or Larisa.
I love Xenia (prn zen-ya) and Ksenia. You definitely need something with a bit of exoticism to match Matvey, even if it's not explicitly Russian.
Thanks for all the replies!
Out of the suggestions fo far I like ( still haven't brought them to DH)..
Kira - I always assumes this was Irish until I looked it up!!!
@Blade- How do you pronounce Thais? I like the look of it but am unsure how to pronounce it!
I want something that is fairly easy to pronounce and not too OBVIOUSLY Russian. We often get asked WHAT ethnicity Matvey (the name) is... I like that people don't know right off the bat!
I like all of the "Alex..." suggestions BUt Matvey's middle name is Alexander so those are all out!
Any other NON or not obviously Russian suggestions?
