I would agree with this, but I especially like it as a nn for names with two "Ds" like Deirdre or Deandra.

Diana or Dina (pronounced Deena) was what first came to mind! Sadie is cute too.
The only DeeDee I've known had initials DD.
You could use alliteration such as

When I was a kid I knew a Deanine. She didn't got by Deedee, but I have always liked it. Deedee could work. I have never met another Deanine. I have heard the name Deanie though, so they could have been Deanine's.
Anyway, here are some other names that could have the nn Deedee:
Before I read your post I thought 'Cordelia', I think DeeDee could easily work for this- i would use it as a nn and Cordelia is on my list for future bubs.
Or just plain Delia or Daphne?
