Almost all of the girl names that I love are getting way too popular, at least too popular for my taste. I like uncommon/unpopular names. Personally, I don't want my daughter to have the same name as a lot of other girls. Does anyone have any name suggestions that I might like? Here's my "names that I love but too popular" list...
Liriope and Calliope! I'll try to think of more later...
Some of the names you have listed (like Molly, Sadie, and Fiona) could make great nn's for longer names.
Molly - could work for most Mary variants, I particularly like Miriam/Mirjam, Marian/Marianne, Moira, Merinda
Sadie - traditionally a diminutive for Sarah - but I think that doesn't help much, how about Sade, Sadiya or Sadah
Fiona - Fionnuala, Fiorella nn Fiora
I love the names I have but I just don't think I could use any of them because they're just too popular. :-/
Penelope -- Priscilla, Phoebe
Molly -- Dolly, Sally, Nelly/Nellie, Kelly, Maudie, Marnie, Marcy
Sadie -- Elsie, Mamie, Essie, Sukey, Roxie, Moxie, Neely, Billie
Chloe -- Daphne, Clio, Claudia
Fiona -- Johanna, Lorna, Diana
Stella -- Liza, Estelle, Chella
Claire -- Blair, Clara, Clarissa, Clarice
Evelyn -- Evalina, Rosalyn
Violet -- Virginia, Victoria, Vienna
Lola -- Lois, Lorelai, Shiloh
Sophie -- Sophronia, Ophelia, Sosie, Sylvie, Sybil
Great suggestions! Thanks. :)
