Jane is the first thing that I thought when I saw the title. Cora and Jane is really cute! :) I also really like:
Margaret (nn Maggie)
Elsa (nn Elsie)
Ann (nn Annie)
I like these with Cora:
I like these because most of them don't end with an "a," so the names won't be so matchy-matchy. Hope this helps!
Cora and Elsie. I prefer Elsie to Ella, Emmie, Elise etc. It's got that cheery EE sound, but it's not cutesy. Makes me think of Elsie de Wolfe.
It sounds like you both like short, no-frills names, but your husband isn't looking for something vintage to match Cora.
Roxanne nn Roxy
There have been some great suggestions and I apologize if I repeat any.
You might like:
Louise, Louisa or Luella/Louella - nn Lou, Lulu
Evelyn, Evie, Eve
Charlotte - nn Lottie?
Rosalind, Rosalie, Rosemary, Rosie, Rose
Estelle, Estella, Stella
What about Elsie? It's kind of like the names you said but it's even more unusual and just as vintage/old-fashioned. Other suggestions (sorry for any repeats);
Okay fabulous namers, here is my current short list which includes a number of your suggestions. Would love to hear your top 3 plus any extra suggestions to get round the fact that my DH prefers very traditional names (his favourites are Anna, Hannah and Victoria) which I think are perfectly nice but don't have the wow factor for me. Maybe there is a lesser known classic name that could work for both of us? Then again I did talk him round to Cora (only took 9 months!!)
I think Eliza and Cora sound great together! Lila and Lily seem a bit close imo, but I don't think it really matters.
With Cora, I like Elsie, Lois, and Esme.
If your husband loves Victoria, what about Victoria nn Vita, or just Vita? Cora and Vita would be great.
