Both are pretty but I'd go with May, the y adds a sense of strength while the e just looks flimsy.

I like May better for a first name and Mae better for a middle name.

May, definitely. May just seems so much purer and prettier than Mae. Mae is just...I don't know, but it definitely lacks all of the beauty and fresh flowers that pop to mind when I think of the name May. I usually go for the classic spelling anyhoo.

I have different images for each spelling. May is a month and the name is gentle and sweet. Mae is spunky and sassy (think of actress MaeWest). I used to like the classic spelling May more but I've learned to love Mae now.

I like them both equally, but I voted for Mae because it has a certain "je ne sais quoi" about it.

I prefer Mae.
To me, May looks overused, mainly from being a month name, and Mae looks very cutesy, like a person's name.
