Your poll really confused me! So I couldn't vote. I thought "who in their right mind would pronounce Evelyn with an R in it? There is no R!!!" Lol, reading the comments section kind of cleared it up for me though. I pronounce it EHV-ah-lyn and I am from Canada. I also pronounce ever with a the r very clearly pronounced!
I've only ever heard it pronounced "EH-ve-lin". Never with an R sound. I'm from the US, Tennessee.
Ehv uh lyn. Never heard those other prn before.
Wow, aren't accents fun. I'm British, but I'm Northern Irish, not English, so I say my Rs as consonants, not vowels. I say EV'uh-lin, but would never even think of attempting to write the first syllable as 'ever'.
If it's meant as a male name however, then I say EVE-lin.
Another US-ian with the ehv uh lyn pronunciation. I voted for 'other' above (voted before reading the accent issues mentioned in the comments.)
I would pronounce it either Eve-lyn or Ev-lyn
Eh-vuh-lyn or Ehv-lyn
I say 'eveh-lin' which is closest to 'ever-lyn' from the options provided.
