Samuel John Gaspard has a better flow, I think. I guess the flow will ultimately depend on ln, but with the fn and two middles, SJG is best. I don't think Gaspard is trying too hard, but I totally know what you mean...I am a "safe" namer, too, and even if I may like a few more out-there choices, when it comes down to actually naming a person, I tend to stick with the safer options. If you're that way, too, I think the middle spot is a great place to use a name you love but aren't quite confident enough to use.
As for a surname, I don't really feel comfortable giving it out. It's quite similar to Roberts, though. Samuel John Gaspard Roberts? Or Samuel Gaspard John Roberts?
