WOW. Very long list!
I almost love:
I really like:
I like a lot:
For middles, I like:
From your lists I like Avalon, Sunniva*, and Cordelia.
Thanks everyone! I am still looking for the right combo, and you guys have helped immensely.
Most of your names are not my style and I cannot or would pronounce some of them the way you do. M take on them
Six Letters or Less
Isaura ee-SOW-rah I like Isaura with the saura prnounced like Laura
Lilaia lil-EYE-ah Not too bad
Aemilia eye-MEE-lee-ah A mouth full and I do not care for the spelling
Artemis I like this, I think of it as a bos names, but I could get used to it for a girl
Astraea Australia? Asteroid? Sorry
Illyria A name I like more on paper than aloud
Isabeau I like this one
Liliana I like this OK
Virelai NMS It sounds a bit harsh and I do not care for Vera. (a bad person in a book I read when I was very young)
Zenobia I vaguely do not like. Cannot say why though. Maybe Zeno is too close to Zero?
Eight Letters or More
Cordelia Says old lady to me
Like, but possibly cannot use. (Unless you can change my thoughts.)
Amélie ah-may-LEE I like this one a lot
Calluna I don't like
Cosima Not sure if I like it or not
Gaia Never have cared for this one
Lavender Nice color
Lilac I like the thought of it but not really seeing it on a live person
Lotus Ditto above
Melisande A mouth full
Naomi I read a book where the Mom liked the look of Naomi but not the sound so she changed the vowels around uuntil she got Niema. Interesting. I like the traditional Naomi
Pallas OH NO
Sakura Very pretty, I like but would not use Too much Asian for myself and where i live? Maybe a middle name?
I only have a couple of comments:
I DO NOT recommend Virelai because it definitely sounds like "virulence," a term used to describe how easily a pathogen transmits. You do not want your daughter to be an index for infectious diseases.
Second, why can't you use Aurelia? I know a little girl named Aurelia and it works just fine; it never occurred to me that it might be "over the top" or anything. She often goes by Rhea, too.
