I like huskies, shiba inus, German shepherds, border collies, and West Highland white terriers. I prefer boy dogs, so most of the names that I like are boy dog names.
Bad Wolf (Doctor Who reference)
Captain Jack (as in Harkness, also from Doctor Who)
I LOVE Italian Greyhounds, Chinese Cresteds, and Great Danes.
In fact, I plan on buying myslf an Italian Greyhound puppy in the next year or two for my birthday. :) Its been a vow of mine for years.
But when it comes to names, I don't really have an exact generalised list. But my favoirte names for a female IG is Vallori/e, Harriet and Bambi; male "Wally" Wallace, Crickett and Cesar.
Female Chinese Crested: Peony and Hermione; Male CC: Phoenix and Jude.
Male Great Dane: Gatsby (The Great Gatsby) and House (huge fan of the show, and of Hugh Laurie).
Love collies and australian shepherds. Also Golden Retrievers because my husband and I have always had them. But really I think all dogs are wonderful and love meeting any breed at the park.
Favorite dog names from dogs I know:
- We have a GIANT, extremely fluffy male golden named Henry. His registered name is HenryFitsHim, because it totally does!
- golden named Bogart
- Mother in law's golden "sib set" of greek names : Ares, Triton, Zeus
- Husky named Neige (french for snow)
- Shiba Inu named Nami
- Bouvier named Gatsby
And I desperately want a female Aussie named Zola
I raise Dachshunds, Boston Terriers and Italian Greyhounds. I also like Boxers and German Shepherds.
Sorcha (thanks Nameberry!)
Two of the funniest I have heard
Sic em Sam (off a video)
Pimp of the World Kid Rock (from an auction)
I have an 11-year-old black lab named Missy, so of course I love labs. :) I also really like pugs, golden retrievers and German shepherds.
Some of my favorite dog names;
Denali (I actually know a German Shepherd named this and I've always really liked it)
Little Man (I used to have a dog named this, and his name fit him perfectly)
I have a Newfoundland named Lucy, which is awfully common, but fits her perfectly.
If we get a male Newf I think we'll call him Alfie.
My breed of all breeds is the Airedale terrier, aka the King of Terriers. My own three year old Airedale is named Woodrow, aka Wood or Drobo. His "official" name is Coldstream Dodge City. I will never not have an Airedale.
I love lots of different breeds of dogs.
I have had three dogs in my lifetime
1st a collie/ spaniel cross names Montgomery "Monty"
then more recently me and an ex had a male beagle Watson and a female Weimaraner named Wilhelmina "Mina" - names chosen for their meaning- beagle for the Sherlock Holmes connection as beagles and bloodhounds have that association for me and Wilhelmina for the meaning of "resolute protection" proctectiveness being a massive trait of the breed . All names suited them perfectly.
Dogs are much easier to name than children....
I have a beagle named Gracie Belle. I love how her name has such a nice ring to it, and it fits her perfectly. :p
'Monty, Watson and Mina' are nice! and i like all those dog breeds too.
