Josephine has grown on me a little bit over the past few months. I don't know if I could ever love it though. I have some major issues with it and they all stem from her ties to the name Joseph. I don't like the name Joseph for two reasons:
1. Because it is too biblical for my tastes.
2. My grandfather who was an incestuous, abusive and alcoholic man was named Joseph.
That being said, Josephine is classic, feminine and strong.
I think Josephine is gorgeous
I also really love the meaning of Josephine....
I love Josephine. :) I had this massive list of new crushes, and I'm trying to narrow it down and see which make the cut, and Josephine's still there. I love the idea of Josephine nn Posy! I'm not sure it'll stick, and it makes me sad that it won't, but I really don't want a list with 20-some names on it. :)
I think Josephine would be adorable with your other girls.
O.K. give me some ideas of middle names, I could toss around :) A few I had in mind are:
What are some others???
Honestly, I think it's okay.
I've never been wild about feminizations and this one is super blatant, but it does have a lot of history and it does have some cute nicknames. I personally would never choose it, but it is a nice name.
I think Josephine is lovely!
I do think it's more of a classic name, but I also think it's really pretty. This name has gone way up on my favorites list due to the fact that it can use Effie as a nickname.

I like Josephine Hope best. :) Although Josephine Marie appeals to me quite a bit, too. I've always liked "E" names with Josephine--I think something like Josephine Eliora or Josephine Emilia or Josephine Emma (obviously wouldn't work for you, though!) or Josephine Elodie would be lovely. What happened to Joy? I love Josephine Joy! It seems so happy, and I sort of like the idea of JJ as a nn for a girl.
My great grandmothers name is Josephine. She was a very spunky and nice lady she lived to be 84 and had a very happy life. I think Josephine is very pretty and classy I don't find it to be stuffy. There are also a lot of lighter weight nick names to choose from. Josie, Posy, Jo, Joey
