Got a few options..
Hi, we're expecting a little girl in a couple of months but are struggling to find a name we agree on.
I don't like names that are too popular or boring.
Daddy doesn't like names that are too strange or too traditional.
Surname: Painter - So nothing that begins with a 'P' sound ("Pippa" is out the window!)
We prefer one - three syllables.
I don't like when the shortened version is too common, either.
I really like the 'ay' sound (as in "Painter")
Let us know what you think of these names or any other suggestions you can think of.
I really like both Hazel and Imogen with the surname Painter, but with the exception of Freya which I've never warmed to, I think all the names mentioned above are beautiful.
Some suggestions would be:
Maybe it'd be an idea to use a name ending in a consonant so that the names don't run together, but having said that I do really like Matilda Painter too! Hope this helps a little!
I love Freya, Madeleine and Elodie equally, but I chose Madeleine.
I second tess27's idea... I love Imogen and Hazel with Painter. Imogen feels more modern to me, whereas Hazel feels more cute, classic, and traditional. I also like all of your options except Freya... for some reason, I think of a unibrowed, awkward child. Not sure why...
Oh voting was tough I ended up voting for Freya but I also love Elodie, Madeleine, and Imogen.
I would have also voted for Elodie and Imogen if I had the chance.
I love Faye Painter. I also want to add the suggestions:
I will rank my top 3 from your picks!
From your options, Madeleine and Hazel were by far my favorites, but I liked the sound of Madeleine Painter much more than Hazel Painter (which sounds more descriptive than an actual name--plus, I think the 3-2 flow works a bit better). I think something like Madeleine Faye, Madeleine Hazel, or Madeleine Elodie would be lovely.
