I've decided Clarinda nn Indy and Scout are my top girls names now, so now I am moving on to boys names. I love Tate so now I need to fall in love with another name too. Here's my list so far:
Jasper/ Jesper nn Jep
Kale- Honors my dads name, Karl. Let me know if you have other ideas
Christopher nn Topher or Kip
Wiley/Wylie- too close to Indy? Honors family name William
Edward nn Ned
Hawk- as a nickname?
Oliver- my grandpa loved Oliver tractors
Frederick nn Fritz or Ricky
Any other ideas?
Jasper is definitely my favorite from your list (it's on my own top 4 list). It's the kind of name that feels both ancient, antique and completely modern. I think it's a great name, with a great meaning/history. My second favorite is Miles, and another one I considered for awhile myself. Oliver is another one that's grown on me a lot, and now I also think of it as quite a great name. Edward (as well as several other 'Ed' names) are among my favorite classic/always-been-around kind of names. Gabriel isn't a name I'd choose myself, but I can understand why people appreciate it. Enoch is one I think could definitely grow on me over time, feels very early 20th century antique to me, which is cool. The other ones I'm not as keen on, my least favorite would definitely be Kale.
I love Enoch and Easton. Jasper is overdone, as are Miles, Gabriel, and Oliver. I also like Frederick and Edward. Wiley makes me think of the coyote... I don't like this one.
Thanks for the thoughts. Do you have any ideas how to honor a Karl besides Kale?
