Parents Names Needed!
Need help finding names for the parents of one of my characters! It takes place in a fantasy setting and features arthro animals. The character's name is Rafael, a former bad guy turned good, he is seventeen, and a wolf! He comes from a noble family but his parents where held for ransom by bandits when he was a kid. This caused him to become angered and eventually become a bandit leader himself before he later resigned and reflected to the good side.
I'm looking for Victorian style names as well as Roman, Spanish, or Latin! Something that is familiar but is not exactly common!
I'd say Leonardo and Elizabeth for the parents. Do those names sound good to you?
Leonardo sounds good but I was think some more along the lines of Lorenzo! As for Elizabeth it is too bland and common for my liking, I want something more exotic and rare sounding!
He are the names of other characters mothers to help give you an idea of what I'm looking for:
maybe you can name the father Lorenzo and the mother Constance. How does that combo sound to you?
If you don't like Elizabeth, how about Elisabet or Elisabetta?
Other ideas for the mother: Adelina, Adriane/Adriana, Amaranta/Amarantha, Carmine/Carmina, Cecily, Celine/Celina, Demetria, Felicity, Francesca, Imelda, Juliana, Lauretta, Marcella, Martina, Milena, Nicola/Nicoletta/Nicolina, Olivia, Olympia, Paola, Pina, Renata, Romina, Rosetta, Severina, Silvia, Valeria, Vanessa, Zaira
I love Spanish names! I hit Behind the Name (fave name site :) ) and Old Census Data and dug up some for you.
Adan- Spanish version of Adam. Pronounced ah-DHAHN which I like.
Afonso/Alfonso- I think Afonso is more popular in Portugal though.
Aitor- Basque name meaning 'good fathers' might be a fun meaning to work with.
Bautista- association with the Cuban dictator might ruin it though. However I've actually seen it being used.
Dario- accent on the 'i' sorry my laptop makes alt code a pain in the neck.
Geraldo and it's sibling Gerardo
Guadalupe- this one is unisex actually
Hector- e is accented
Adela- variants Adelia, Adelaida, Adelina, Adelita
Amaranta- awesome meaning 'never fading'
Catalina- Spanish form of Catherine but I don't see Catalina much
Green- not kidding you it's #297 in the 1880-1889 US name rankings.
Waldo- probably too much with the Where's Waldo link
:P I love names. There should be at least one that might work haha
So far for the mother I'm liking Calliope and Delilah but I not dead set on any names yet!
Actually I think I'll chose Miranda as the mother's name, it fits best in my opinion!
