I am married and TTC so it's compromise time. Big time.
Marlena - his fave, I hate it
Lena - his second fave
I like some of his choices ok. He hates mine. :-)
We both like:
Fiona - his fave of the ones we both like
Tabitha - he really likes, I'm not crazy about the nn Tabby
Eva - we both like a lot but I hate how popular it is
The mn Emerald is non-negotiable. :-)
I think if it were entirely up to me I might have given my daughters names like Rosalind, Beatrice, Juliet and Daphne. My husband might have gone along with Juliet and Daphne but he preferred much more solid classics like Mary, Sarah, Caroline and Audrey. It wasn't too hard for us to find common ground because our styles weren't that different. We had no issues agreeing on boy names. There would be no compromise needed. My (current) compromise girl name list would probably look something like this:
I know these are names he would like well enough to use. And I would too. I'm glad I did not have to compromise with my oldest daughter's name. He loved it as much as I did - maybe even a bit more.
Henry and Julia are our compromise names. ;) He wanted to name Henry Nicholas but I really do not like the name. He liked Henry well enough so he agreed to let me use it if I let him name our next. His favorite girls name was Julia, which I liked well enough.
Some of my favorites:
It's it sad that we have no compromise names?
I love Azure and Lumi for a girl and Luca and Magnus for a boy.
The only names he's offered are Suvi and Lyra. I don't really like Suvi and am considering Lyra, but don't really want it. He's considering Lumi. He'll probably give in as he doesn't care that much about names. He really doesn't like Luca so I don't think I'm getting that one, but he's offered nothing else so we're stuck on boys right now.
